Wow! Great store for vegans! - Edit
I was in NO a few was ago visiting family. I'd heard about the unique Healing Center and there found the (almost hidden) co-op. I'm from Seattle so I'm no stranger to well stocked vegan items in co-ops, but wow, this had MANY items in different categories I hadn't seen before! And the sweetest cashier - he gave a darling 3-legged doggy special treats + luv. Another reason to visit soon!

Great selection! - Edit
They have vegan options that I haven’t seen anywhere else within a 3 hour driving radius! They have locally made tofu and vegan cheeses, as well as some refrigerated and frozen items that aren’t available anywhere else in town! I highly recommend stopping and shopping and supporting this local gem!

Supermarket - Edit
Plenty of vegan options available and clearly marked. Some expensive items but also some that are very reasonably priced. You definitely get a local feel here, and they support the local communities/suppliers. Staff were very friendly.

Support Your Co-Op! - Edit
We lived in New Orleans when the only game in town was Whole Foods. I don’t know that people appreciate the “blood, sweat, and tears” that went in to building this community owned grocery store, located in what was at the time a food desert. Jeff Bezos doesn’t need your money. If you are looking for good vegan and natural food products, this is your spot. Plus, I ran into Woody Harrelson in the produce section. So, ya know, maybe you’ll run into a celebrity sometime too?? This place also hosted one of the first Veg Fests in the city.

Too expensive for average everything - Edit
One of those “I wish I had shopped at Whole Foods” type markets (and Whole Foods is the worst). It was so expensive and I was really underwhelmed with their selection. The sweet potatoes and kale I got weren’t exceptional but the fruit was good, I’ll give them that.

Really cool co-op - Edit
This is a gem hidden in the city. It's located inside of the New Orleans Healing Center on the main floor in the back. They have soups on hand if you want an immediate meal, and when I visited, there was always a vegan option. They sell a lot of packaged foods, but have a large variety. It's a great place to get snacks and items for meals, and shouldn't be missed if you're visiting New Orleans.

Cute co-op - Edit
Most co-ops have a down to earth feel, and this one is no different. The shelves are relatively well stocked, but there are some open spaces with no product. That's ok, be sue it's better to have good quality items than bad quality, so no senseless filling with bad quality.

They have a good selection of produce, most are organic and local produce is labeled as such. There is a small salad bar, too, which is cool. Specially priced sale items tend to be in the front of the store just behind the registers- these sale items include a couple produce items.
Chocolate, grains, milk and the like are all available here in vegan version. Plenty of bulk bins. Fill your own water jug. Prices are alright. Nice staff.
Pros: Vegan friendly, Local produce emphasis

Wonderful store!! - Edit
I absolutely LOVE the Food Co-op. So many great items. They have a large bulk department and freshly made tofu. I absolutely love that the information on their farmers and producers is so accessible, it's just nice to see all of the local places that are involved and to have such an easily accessible way to support them.
