Tasty and Unique - Edit
This is a tiny cafe with a fairly small menu. I had the curried vegetable soup with toast and cheese. It was amazing. My husband had the open top sandwich, which was basically my bread and cheese with veggies on top. There is only one table in there, so we sat with a local lady who was already there and had a nice chat. The prices are a little on the high side, but you are getting real food instead of junk. I would recommend giving this place a try. My only real complaint is that even though we ate in, the dressing came in a small plastic pot with a lid. I would love to see little glass or ceramic bowls being used instead.

Super healthy yum! - Edit
I love plant based AND sprouted! The owner makes his own sprouted breads out of hemp and chia! I got the open faced sandwiches and they were delicious! It’s a small menu but it all looked really good!

Manufacturer of Super powders and Coconut yogurts made available to the public! - Edit
This store is very unique as it created life changing products that have not been existing before like the first Coconut yogurt (2001) and Kefir as well as many other surpising inventions. The cafe also offers light, raw food, fresh coconut cheeses, sprouted hemp/chia seed bread, raw sushi plates, grain free pizza and burgers. Everything is gluten-free, sugar, soy and dairy-free, and non-GMO. It also is an outlet for their nationwide sold line of super powders like the - GPS-Green Powder Superdrink, Berry Extreme (13 freeze dried berries with Sea Buckthorn, Hawthorn, Acai, Goji, Black Currant, Black Raspberry, Pomegranate and more. They are the only US company offering Ricatein, an amazing upside down grown extremely nutritious sprouted rice protein powder.

Try a smoothie or bowl - Edit
I was feeling a bit tired and instead of a coffee I chose their berry smoothie with lots of goodies. No sugar but tastes great for someone that likes sweet

Just what I wanted! - Edit
Driving home on the 101, I was hoping to find a vegan, gluten free dessert, something not too unhealthy. And this was perfect! I got the hazelnut chocolate bar. Soo delicious! I'll remember to stop here in the future. 😋

Not good - Edit
My friend and I were stopping at pismo beach on our road trip and we were excited to find vegan and gluten free food. The staff were not particularly rude, but they were condescending when they found out we were from the Midwest. The prices are pretty high for the amount of food and it wasn’t very good either. I would not come back here.

Good Food but Incompetent Service - Edit
I took a newly vegan friend to this place on our lunch break on a Wednesday. We got there about 12:10. There was a woman who ordered just before us and the cashier was busy with a "client" on the phone. He excused himself from the juice bar and went to the kitchen to continue his conversation in privacy before serving us. He came back and was still talking to his "client." I finally looked at him and said, "we're ready to order." He told the person on the phone that he had to help some "clients," referring to us.
Read moreI ordered the seaweed wrap and my friend ordered the green coffee, soup, and the burger. We told him we were on lunch break and had to be back to our meeting south of town by 1 pm, so I asked him how long it would take. He said it wouldn't take long. I had to repeat my question, "how long?" He said 5 minutes. We were satisfied with his answer and sat down. At 12:38 the woman ahead was just served so I was getting agitated because we still didn't have our food and I got the feeling he said "5 minutes" as a way to placate me. We finally stood up and said, hey - we need to go. So he walked over to the deli case and grabbed a pre-made seaweed wrap and gave it to me. I was like, WTF - we'd been waiting for 20 minutes and you're just now giving me the wrap? He said he wanted to give me a fresh one but the kitchen staff is new/in training. It was soggy but it did taste good (I was really hungry). My friend got her burger to go, ate it in the car, and said it was really good. I will NEVER return. I don't appreciate the lying and the struggle to find parking wasn't fun. Here's a hint - maybe don't train kitchen staff during the noon-1pm lunch rush. I was really annoyed by his lack of sense of urgency. I imagine he was more concerned with getting back to the kitchen to finish smoking his bowl with the kitchen staff (there were two of them back there in addition to this sloth-like cashier) than meeting the needs of his "clients."
Pros: Clean, Good Food
Cons: Slow Service, No Free Parking

made from the best stuff on earth - Edit
What was a slogan for Snapple is a reality at New Earth Health Cafe. You get exactly what the menu describes. No bait and switch here. They use the finest ingredients available and the owners are extremely knowledgeable of the health food industry and more than happy to share their knowledge with inquisitive customers. Best raw food meal I have enjoyed to date. A wide selection of drinks to go along with a tasty menu that includes delicious desserts. I recommend the veggie burger. Buy some grain bread to go! Can't wait to go back.

Amazing - Edit
This place is amazing. We tried a lot of what was on the menu, and it was all spectacular. Perhaps a little on the expensive side, but a lot of effort goes into making their own vegan cheeses and breads and it is all absolutely worth it. I wish I lived closer so I could come here more often.

Food as Medicine - Edit
I had read about this place on HappyCow and was in town (June 2014), so I went in for a look. Here's my New Earth Health Cafe review.
Read moreThe space is very relaxed and inviting. The owners are super knowledgeable about food and herbs. To get to the cafe you have to walk up the street away from the main part of downtown, just for a couple minutes.
In the fridge are bottles of coconut kefir drniks alongside prepared vegan & mostly raw meals, including an open-face sandwich with side salad where the bread is infused with coconut kefir as well the raw cheese on top - delicious. We also tried the fresh veggie rolls with salad and that was yummy, too. The acai bowl with berries and house-made sprouted granola was refreshing.
The food all tasted light and nourishing. I would definitely return the next time I'm in San Luis Obispo.
Pros: vibrant, healing, relaxed

Clean and Friendly - Edit
A great new addition to the healthy scene in downtown San Luis Obispo. Not an extensive menu but plenty of juices and smoothies. I had an open-faced sandwich vegetable sandwich with avocado on kaffir bread that was delicious. A daily soup is available and salads are prepped and ready in a stand-up refrigerator case.
