Don’t Bother

We made sure to check google and social media for opening hours and after walking 20 minutes from the closest bus stop we were met with a vague closed sign. Not worth the trip, just get an mos burger or something.

Fresh and delicious vegan food

! Cash only (we didn’t have any and the owner had to drive us to an ATM 😬😓)
Really great vegan food in the owner’s house. The persimmon ice cream was delicious. Highly recommend going there, even if it’s quite out of the way - we weren’t sure that there would be a restaurant there but there was!

A perfect dining experience

This restaurant is a little tucked away, but it is entirely worth the trip. The food is exceptional, in taste, price, and quantity. The owner is so friendly, and with both Western and Japanese seating options we felt completely tended to.
If you’re in Beppu, go here, you won’t regret it!

Pros: Amazing food, with a regularly changing menu, Lovely scenery, Best vegan place in Beppu

Lovely place, great food, long walk

This is a tiny cafe with only three tables located inside the owner's house. Getting here requires going way up into the neighborhood up the hill, which can be a long walk. But it's worth it (and works up an appetite!).

The menu is small but entirely vegan and the options all seem really good. I ended up going with the taco rice and miso soup; definitely a winning combo. Lots of veg, beautiful presentation, great taste. It's run by a very friendly woman. I mostly communicated in Japanese here, but she was willing to speak in (somewhat limited) English as well.

Definitely stop in if you're in Beppu. Makes for a great meal after the hot springs.

We went there yesterday and it was closed for the holiday. 😢 we will leave Beppu before it reopens.

Fantastic vegan cafe

Fantastic little cafe. Only 3 choices of main dish (homemade soya hamburger, taco rice and cream stew) but all come with soup and side dishes and the two we had were very tasty. Also great selection of drinks and cakes. The cafe is a little out of the way but definitely worth the trip.

Pros: Everything vegan, Focus on healthy macrobiotic food, Cozy atmosphere

Cons: A little hard to find

Tasty and healthy

We've ordered taco rice with seasonal soup, hamburg with miso - and a rum raisin scone for dessert.
Out of the two I preferred the flavours of the taco rice, including the side salad, dressing and salsa it came with. The hamburg was not bad, too.
The scone was particularly tasty, crunchy on the outside and soft on the inside.
Nice relaxing atmosphere and a pleasant owner.
Menu in Japanese with limited English.
