UPDATE Feb 2023 - Edit
Menu a la carte (see new pics) - tasty, beautiful layed down and large portion of great food. GO UPSTAIRS for nice street atmosphere from above. Pricing and owners just perfect! I'll be back for sure

Cheap vegetarian food - Edit
Had breakfast of the day, which included two pieces of bread and fruit salad with yoghurt and some sort of sauce drizzled on top. If you’re vegan, make sure you say so beforehand. You also got a warm cup of soy milk. It cost 5 soles, not the best breakfast ever but for the price it was nice.
Read moreThe lunch was really nice, you got a big soup and a main for 7 soles.
Pros: Some vegan options, Friendly staff

Good healthy food. - Edit
Service is great and they have so many options besides the daily menu (which always has a vegan option)

Good Food, Cheap and Convenient - Edit
I had the Menu here which had Soup, Salad and Main - all for 5 soles ($1.50). The food was filling and I was given seconds for salad. Recommended if you are in the center. Not much English spoken but they understand what veganism means.
Read moreIf you visit when they are closed, you might be tempted to think they don't exist (I was and I so reported too!). There are absolutely no signs to indicate they exist.

Nice small restaurant close to main square - Edit
Nice and friendly place close to the main square. They have a set menu for breakfast, lunch and dinner which is mostly vegan. Breakfast and dinner menu costs 4 soles, lunch is 5 or 6 soles and includes a soup, a main dish, salad and drinks. Very cheap!

Massive portions - Edit
This place will fill you up. I tried the lomo saltado here because I wanted to see typical Peruvian food, and for 9 soles I could not finish it. That's unheard of for me. It was good, i also tried a bit of the soy meat sandwich (which was tiny but super cheap) and a pitcher of limonada that was also enormous. They have tons of options and it is a nice place. My only complaint is they let us stupid gringos buy 2 pitchers of limonada having no concept we were to get like a gallon of the stuff, and we paid for the extra one but gave it away.

Good option in Trujillo - Edit
[I went there late December 2014, the set menu for lunch was at 5 soles, and 4 soles for dinner / the hours were Monday-Friday 8h-14h & 17h-20h, and Sunday 8h-14h (closed Saturday)]
Read moreI went there two times for dinner (S/. 4) and if the food was like in many other vegetarian restaurants in Peru: soup and main course + beverage, but more flavourful than in other similar places.
A good place to go since I couldn't find the other ones (temporary of definitively closed?) and it's way cheaper than the veg-friendly places like Don Paco o Sanguchon.
Pros: Cheap, Set menu for dinner (till 8pm)

Best Vegetarian Restaurant in Cajamarca - Edit
Nature's Center is a few blocks from the Plaza. Their set menu is extremely popular with the locals. If you come to lunch or dinner late they may have run out of the main dish. The menu has great options for both vegans and lacto-vegetarians. The staff is friendly, but do not speak English. Like most restaurants in Peru the toilet facilities are bad.
