One of the best KFC chicken rice

Spoilt for choice, too much food to choose from, ordered their KFC chicken rice, the rice by itself is very very fragrant, the chicken (king oyster mushroom) is well fried, the acar, chilli and picked veggies taste good too, recommended.

Healthy tasting good food

Tried the olive fried rice and Black bean sauce fish with rice. Aromatic, not oily, and big portions.
Went for dinner and there was quite a lot of options on the dinner menu.

Pros: Lots of options , Fast service

Mediocre vegetarian fare

We ordered via a food delivery service. The char kway teow and hokkien mee were average and the fried carrot cake was on the hard side. Probably would not try again in the near term.

Tasty food without too much salt

This store is known for its mock bak kut teh, but also serves rice with various mock toppings.

When I ate here, I bought one of EVERYTHING they had - one mock bakuteh, one plate of flavoured rice, with more than ten different toppings. There was more than enough food to feed two, and the cost totalled up to only $9, so I must say that the price is very reasonable.

I absolutely love their speciality rice, which is flavoured lightly with spices like anise (ba jiao) and cassia (gui pi), and a little bit of vegetable and sesame oil. It is very fragrant and has a light, pleasant taste. The mock meats have a light taste too, and go well with the rice.

The mock fish ball is just a-ma-zing. It is really chewy, and is very fun to eat. I was really surprised too, for it tastes even better than the real thing!

The mock bak kut teh is also a healthy, vegan version of regular bak kut teh. It uses less oil and salt, replacing these ingredients with a variety of herbs instead, so that the broth is a lot more like herbal chinese soup.

The mock meat in the bak kut teh also has a nice, firm texture, which is a welcome alternative to many other mock meats out there, which are all very soft and mushy.

If you prefer a stronger taste in your food, the stall also serves three different chilli sauces for you, all with their own unique tastes!

If I were to recommend some improvements, it would be for them to include a wider variety of food besides just mock meats. Some tofu dishes would be good.

All in all, I was still very satisfied with this stall.

Pros: Not too salty, Flavourful herb taste, Mock meats have range of textures

Cons: Not a lot of variety
