Delicious vegan organic food - Edit
Got a vegan coconut curry for takeout bc the restaurant was closed due to Covid…
Read moreIt was very good. Not so oily as many other curries are. And not spicy at all, just right for me, who can’t handle hot food.
Next to the restaurant is a natural store with offers food, cleaning supply, clothing and more.

Delicious - Edit
The hatake no gohan is delicious, it changes almost every week and you can have free refills of rice and miso soup. The cakes are also very tasty and the staff is super kind.

Cosy, fine dining - Edit
I had a beautiful dinner with great service. The menu has a number of vegan options, which were easily pointed out by the kind waitress. I especially liked the melted creamy ‘cheese’ on the radish. All food was presented elegantly and was both delicious and healthy. The restaurant itself has a very authentic atmosphere with timber furnishings and relaxing music.

Cons: Menu and communication in Japanese only

Fall in love with veggies here - Edit

I found this place randomly on Facebook, and I’m so glad I did!
It’s located in the basement of the Northport Mall in Center Kita. I wasn’t sure what to expect, but I was blown away. The space is actually quite large, because there’s not only the restaurant, but also a natural food/ products store located there. They sell a huge variety of things and you can happily spend a long time browsing. But we were there for the food...
We were told that the 1600 yen Hatake no Gohan (“food from the field”) plate is usually vegan anyway, but it’d be best to say that you’d prefer a vegan version when ordering, just to be sure. I wasn’t expecting much— just veggies on a plate?— but what I got instead was a sumptuous, filling meal with all different kinds of flavors and textures. It comes with a little card in Japanese explaining each dish. I took my time with it and savored each bite.
Of course, if there a vegan dessert option available, we have to try it no matter how full we may be. Restaurant Coa had four different options! We had the banana and walnut cake and the nut tart (480 yen each). They were both great but the tart was our favorite.
Coa isn’t exactly cheap, but in this case you definitely get what you pay for. I can’t wait to go back.
Pros: Delicious, healthy meal with variety of dishes , Nice atmosphere , Friendly staff
Cons: A little pricey
