NEW NAME!! Perezoso Coffee House - Edit
Natural Food is now called Perezoso Coffee House. It still has açai bowls and vegan waffles (although they were sold out of waffles when we went). The man working spoke English. The açai is delicious. We asked for extra sugar and it was perfect for us. There are tourist shops to browse while you wait for food. Plenty of seating at noon.

Lovingly run small, vegan restaurant with good vibes - Edit
As an enthusiastic European customer of “Natural Food” for years, today - on the 3rd anniversary of this lovingly run small, vegan restaurant – I decided, that it`s finally time for writing a review and saying THANK YOU:
Read moreA big thank you for
- all the super-tasty, energizing and overall healthy Acai-Bowls, which I love sooo much,
- the fantastic Falafel-Wraps and Falafel-Salads,
- the great vegan and super-yammy waffles in all their variations,
- the delicious, freshly prepared smoothies (above all my beloved Acai-Smoothie),
- the wonderful cold-coffee (my absolute No. 1 in regards to coffee 😊)
- the amazing Piña Colada
- the delicious vegan ice-cream, as well
- all the great, fresh fruits in general!
Yes, I have to admit over the years I've gotten to know and love the entire menu. 😊
And on a side note: I also truly love the original caramelized cocao-beans, which you can buy there as well. They can either be a little treat for yourself or a very welcomed present for your loved ones at home. 😉
Thanks also for
- quality
- freshness
- nutritiousness
- fair prices and
- an actual real 1:1 happy-hour-offer, which you probably won't find so easily somewhere else in Costa Rica 😉.
A final, huge thank you also for
- the loving, warm atmosphere and all the positive energy on site
- all the wonderful, authentic, open and heart-refreshing conversations (be it with the owner himself, his employees or simply with other lovely customers)
- lots of laughter and fun on site, as well
- all the numerous advices and tips, that I received locally (be it for my various trips within the country or in general for my life here).
From my point of view “Natural Food” isn`t “just” a restaurant. Additional it`s also a place with lots of good vibes to feel good, a place, which connects people and which offers great customer service! Paying by card is already possible and this place also has got WIFI.
So don`t hesitate to stop by whenever you are in Costa Rica and enjoy your own lovely experience there! You will not regret it! 😊

Hard to find - Edit
I had the waffles, falafel wrap, and smoothie. They were all good. The place was difficult to find because my gps took me to an adjacent street. This is located 30 metres from the entrance to Manuel Antonio park. It’s a stand in a small tourist market.

Great ice cream - Edit
We got the waffle that comes with a scoop of ice cream on top as well as sliced bananas and strawberries. You can get multiple flavors of ice cream and chocolate or maple syrup.
Read moreThe ice cream was great but the waffle was tough and required a bit of brute force to slice. But the flavor of the waffle was good and complimented the ice cream well.
Great treat after visiting the park and the lady serving was super sweet.

Good and refreshing - Edit
I tried the vegan waffles and a coffee with vegan ice cream. Tasty was okay but not overwhelming but I definitely appreciated a cool snack in between. The owner is very friendly.

Vegan ice cream!! - Edit
We have found only three places we can get vegan ice cream in the five areas of CR we have been. We had a scoop of orange pineapple with a scoop of vanilla. Perfect!!

Nice light fare option - Edit
Good light, fresh food with mostly vegan options. Many items are vegan but not stated as vegan - all the ice cream is soy based but not marked, waffles are vegan but not labeled as vegan. Cash only is not indicated anywhere, so after having our food made, we had to trek up to the hotel for cash to pay, which was very inconvenient - just have a sign that says cash only!

Cons: Expensive, Cash only

So refreshing! - Edit
This is exactly what you need after hiking in the national park! It’s right down the street from the park exit and provides refreshing smoothies, açaí bowls, ice cream, etc. we did the non alcoholic pina coladas and açaí bowls and they were great. They have falafel as well if you want something more substantial, but we didn’t have it so I’m not sure how it tastes. The woman is so kind and helpful as well. If there is a certain fruit you don’t like, be sure to tell her because the açaí bowls have every fruit under the sun!

Cons: Only substantial food is falafel, Kind of slow
