I don’t know what to say

I was so surprised by this restaurant. We didn’t eat here because of how bad the service was. I’ve never had a situation like this, I appreciate servers and know how hard they work, I used to be one. Our server today was not helping me with vegan options. I wanted yellow curry but they cannot take out the fish sauce. I have a broccoli allergy (it just hurts my stomach) and I think this frustrated my server, she seemed unhappy/annoyed with my table from the start. I asked about a couple of appetizers and didn’t get a straight answer about what vegetables they contain. I asked if I could have the pad Thai with vegetables and tofu on the side and she actually said no, that they will not do that for me. I clarified and she said no again. I am still confused by this whole interaction and why it went this way. I ended up leaving because I felt like the server wasn’t wanting us there.

Pleasantly surprised

I got the avocado cucumber sushi roll, the Thai spring rolls(veganized with tofu), and the pineapple fried rice(also veganized with tofu). The sushi was delicious and tasted very fresh; it wasn’t anything too noteworthy but if you want a plant based option and you’re in the area, I definitely recommend . The Thai spring rolls alone were very underwhelming but they easily became my favorite item, that I ordered, when I tried them with the paired peanut butter sauce; the combination of the sweet and savory sauce with the fresh veggies in the roll were absolutely amazing. The pineapple fried rice was something I decided to try that was out of my comfort zone, as I am a “pineapple doesn’t belong on pizza” person and that applies to any form of warm pineapple, but I was happy I took the chance. The pineapple paired very well with the savory flavor of the fried rice and I was pleasantly surprised by how much I loved the dish; the only thing I think would make it better were if the pineapple chunks were just a bit smaller. The customer service was excellent, I was promptly assisted at the door (I did a walk in order for takeout) and taken to put in my order immediately; my order was made quickly and they were sure to provide me with utensils and soy sauce in my bag. The restaurant’s seating looked very comfortable and the ambiance was very welcoming. If I ever pass through Kansas City again, I’d definitely stop in to try more of their menu items because they seem to be very good at what they do. If you’re vegetarian or vegan looking for a spot that won’t disappoint then this is definitely the place for you!

Pros: The flavor combinations of their dishes, The option to customize your vegan meal , The swiftness of the order being made

Cons: Pineapple chunks in fried rice were a little big, Sushi was average quality , Spring rolls boring without the sauce

A confused mess

The place has about every Asian cuisine thats common in Kansas, and it’s pretty basic. You won’t be super offended by anything, but nothing is worth writing home about
