Cute little place with booth style tables, really friendly and helpful service and the food is great. Reasonable prices for good sized portions. Would definitely recommend for vegetarians, vegans but also anyone else!

Great goulash and seitan

Average prices for Budapest. I really enjoyed the Bean Goulash Soup and the seitan cutlets, but the falafel was pretty terrible and I didn't end up finishing it (which is unusual for me). Staff were quite friendly and the restaurant environment was nice.

delicious!

Cute and cosy cafe. Great find through this app. Pressed for time so chose the pizza and a lattice dessert cake... both were delicious. Wish I'd had more time to go back and try more as everything on the menu looked wonderful. Also great value.

Great little place

This was near where we were staying and we went twice because everything on the menu sounded great! We had the sharing platter one day and pizzas another. Lots of food and really nice. Cakes were good too. The restaurant is small and pretty, with underground stone arches and a few booths to sit in. They also sell things like plant milk, dairy-free cheese, soya sausages and chocolate to take away.

Great pizza

Loved this all vegan place. Had a lovely pizza and the size was astonishing for the price. The menu was vast and there was a great range of pizzas and other dishes with an array of veggies and mock meats. The vegan cheese on the pizza was delicious too. The place was small but in a cosy way and they were obliging to accommodate a very large group at short notice (there was well over 10 of us). The staff were friendly and helpful but service was very slow, even more so than would be expected for a large group.

Wonderful, hearty, delicious food!

We are so full, almost cannot walk!
This wonderful restaurant serves traditional Hungarian foods very tasty and rich, not for those counting calories. We tried the Napfényes Bistro plate for two, fuel for an IronMan!
Then I drank organic Elderberry tea and ate a delicious multi layer caramel cake, not too sweet, just wonderful.
No beer/alcohol or coffee, but you won't miss them anyway.

Pros: great food and service

Cons: none

Tasty, good quantity

Good quality and quantity. I put only 4 stars because my main course was maybe a little bit too fat (everything was fried).

Pretty decent

My friend and I ordered the platter for 2. The food was pretty good, but due to my regular diet I found it was a bit too oily and heavy for me as most of it was deep fried. However, if you are used to this or have other things, I feel like the food would be good overall.

Pros: Friendly, Lots of choice, Cheap

Cons: Lots of fried food

so amazingly tasty!

We came in for breakfast around noon (we're on vacation :)) and the food was just wonderful. Very tasty soups and the coal burners pizza were our favorite. The seitan cutlets were tasty but not as tasty as the pizza and soups ... we also tasted the fried cheese and falafel and they were sinfully good too, especially the cheese - pure evil ;) we are so not on a diet :) Highly recommend!

Pros: food taste, portions , service

good

Big menu choice with lots of pizzas and desserts. Was very nice. The mediterranean pizza was supposed to have sundried tomatoes on it tho and it didn't really. The waitress also seemed not very friendly sometimes I was asking about the desserts and she seemed irritated.

We had a platter for two, which was just great! We only had the platter, water and two smoothies and were stuffed.

Too bad we have to return home tomorrow, would have live to try out more from the menu.

Pros: The food, The price

Cons: Waitress not very friendly, Payment at counter, not clear if tip was included

Amazing food

We visited Napfényes Bistro twice during our stay in Budapest. Their food was amazing including veganised variations of traditional Hungarian food. I have tried first time in my life vegan deep fried cheese - and I have to admit that it was amazing. I also liked very much their ragout soup with tarragon.

They have very generous portions for affordable prices.

Overall, I would highly recommend this place. We were also informed that they do have another place closer to the city centre.

Pros: Delicious food including veganised hungarian food, Generous portions for affordable prices, Friendly staff

Cons: None

Traditional dishes made vegan

A lovely place with friendly staff. We went here as part of a vegan food tour with Taste Hungary, so we were already full before we arrived. We tried some traditional foods - goulash soup, cabbage rolls, and some kind of millet balls for dessert. All were delicious. Checked out the extensive menu, and next time we're going back hungry! It was mid-week lunchtime, so fairly quiet, but I'm told it's packed out at weekends, so you probably need to book. There's also a cafe at the front where you can choose from a large range of cakes.

Pros: Vegan versions of traditional dishes, Calm and friendly atmosphere

The best vegan restaurant ever!

I've tried a lot of vegan places and this was simply the best, the food is incredible, and surprinsingly cheap, specially at lunch, they have a special menu with smaller prices. I went to this place 2 times during 3 days in Budapest, I wish I could go more. They also have desserts and ice cream, which is very good too.

Pros: Delicious food, Many desserts, Price

Cons: Nope

Woderful decadent experience

This place came highly recommended and it’s easy to see why. The place is underground with a brick vaulted ceiling and seating in booths. It actually feels rather fancy with the table linens and staff in their whites. We went to the smaller branch with the shorter menu but the list off choices was still vast. Specifically I had a hankering for pizza so that is what we both went for. I choose the Popeye pizza with extra arugula and Nathanael had the three cheese. And yes it was all vegan! Mine was without a tomato base and it had garlic, cheese, nutmeg and the fresh greens on top. It was delicious but very rich and I think I would have preferred one with a tart tomato sauce. Nates was really good, he got faux sausage on top which was well spiced and very meaty. Not something I had tried before. For someone feeling the loss of meat in their life it would make a good substitute. They were huge portions and I only managed half of mind so for sure you could share one with perhaps a salad from the self-serve bar, which looked great. We were so full that we had our desserts to go. I could not leave without one as their selection was incredible. Very decedent creamcake style creations with layers of different fillings and pastries. I had a raspberry concoction, which was a poppyseed cake topped with a creamy whipped raspberry layer. Nate went for a biscuit thing with jam in the middle covered in white chocolate with beautiful piped decoration. This place was a real gem with options for everyone including Hungarian goulash, seitan roast and pasta dishes. I would be interested to visit the larger premises which was advertised as having live music at the weekends and is perhaps better located for those staying more centrally........ please visit my blog for more vegan reviews......www.whitedragonorganics.com

The pizzas are great - Hungarian is the best. The raw food platter was crisp and appetising. The seitan kievs were flavoursome and 'meaty'The vanilla slice was the nicest vegan pastry I ever had (English vanilla slice was always my favourite as a non vegan)They even got me the recipe when I asked!Snickers cake also very nice.Large cosy dining areas with outdoor tables too Huge choice of dishes - menu is a book of ten pages! See video review on Vegan on Wheels channel. https://youtu.be/yDA9ENX-270
