Flavorful Indian Food - Edit
Rocking a quaint hole-in-the-wall vibe, Namaste Garden is centrally located right off of Park Street in Essex Junction, with convenient parking around back. With tables for sixteen on the outside deck and about the same inside, this Indian restaurant sports an intimacy that many larger establishments lack. One of three brothers who co-own and operate Namaste cheerfully explained (after I’d shared with him that I was Whole Food Plant Based) how any of the meals could be made vegan. (After which he cheerfully explained to my wife that they did not serve meat.) We started by ordering a sweet potato dish as an appetizer. As my wife commented, this dish tasted like no other sweet potato (or yam, for that matter) she’d had before. Basted in a dark brownish sweet sauce and sprinkled with unidentifiable seasonings, each forkful offered up a different hint of exotic spice. I had a mango-based dish as my main course, which went quite well with the accompanying saffron rice. Although a little sweet for my taste, the meal’s level of spiciness was perfect for me (I had ordered medium, and typically enjoy spicy food). My wife had a mushroom/cheese based dish whose sauce I tried and found to be extremely tasty with its earthy umami base and multi-faceted flavor profile—a dish that the chef offered to prepare for me as vegan for our next visit. We look forward to returning for another delicious taste of India in the near future!

Great family owned business - Edit
Please support this wonderful family owned establishment. They are the only Indian restaurant in the greater Burlington area that make their own dessert and savouries - a niche typically occupied by confectioner. Reasonably priced, flavorful food. I always ask for mildly spicy food and it always comes out perfectly mild yet flavourful.

Great experience - Edit
We stopped by on a rainy afternoon to place an order to go and sat at the bar while we waited. The staff were very kind and helpful and explained anything (except paneer/cheese) on the menu could be vegan. There are a few tables inside but it’s pretty small. In nicer weather there are a few outdoor tables too on the deck. Our order came out in a few minutes. We ordered gobi manchurian, plain saag, and tofu vandaloo, and plain naan. Everything was delicious. My only complaint is I wish there was more tofu in the serving of vandaloo. Definitely going back to try more options and support this fully vegetarian restaurant!

Great takeout experience - Edit
Everything I got was delicious! I ordered a few things for takeout so that I could have leftovers, and I ended up with more food than I was expecting, which I was happy about! Its really nice to see an entire menu being able to be made vegan. I'm definitely coming here again!

Good as a Take-Out Option - Edit
Wanted to check this place out but literally couldn't handle being in the restaurant; there was a horrific loud electrical screeching noise that apparently the staff there could not hear. Not sure if that's a regular thing or just the day I was there. Ended up doing takeout later; it was good but a bit far for me if I'm not going to dine in. If you live in the area I imagine it would be a good standby for takeout.

Cons: Noisy, dark interior, Electrical noises make it unbearable inside

Delightful service, tasty food - Edit
We read a review of this new spot in the paper and made a point to go. The owner who served us was gracious and friendly and warm, and VERY vegan knowledgable and helpful. They said they could make pretty much anything vegan that wasn't already, and that they are very committed to expanding these options in our community. We over-ordered (generous servings) and enjoyed spring rolls, 3 kinds of naan (potato and herb, plain, and garlic), and 4 curries and rice (a sweet mango vegetable, a spinach tofu paneer, and two masalas - chickpea and tofu. There was a video of Indian dancing playing that made our day - really happy and upbeat. Great experience, brought home tons of leftovers!
