Delicious Variety - Edit
I love going here on the regular with my partner! There’s a very large selection of clearly labeled vegan options, and many dishes can be prepared vegan too. The service is excellent, and I always feel secure knowing that my food will be vegan and delicious!

Delicious Nepalese Food with Excellent Vegan Options - Edit
Namaste Cafe has a wide variety of delicious and clearly-marked vegan options served in a homey setting, whether you're outdoors on the patio or inside the house-turned-restaurant. It's hard to pick a favorite, but I love the Chiya Chili Potatoes (a former vegan challenge winner), Chloe, and Spinach Paratha. I also especially appreciate more difficult to find options like Golgappa/Panipuri and Coconut Spinach with Tofu. An added environmentally friendly bonus is that they have reusable metal carryout containers, for which you give a deposit and then return. It's one of my favorite restaurants in Minneapolis.

Fantastic indian food - Edit
I regularly visit here. They have in-house made chais which taste incredible. Food is always delicious. My only complaint is that several times we have visited during peak hours (dinner rush ect) they only had a couple servers on. It can also be a bit of a wait for the food to come out. Highly recommend for take out!

Delicious - Edit
I’ve been to Namaste many times and they’re consistently delicious. They have many vegetarian/vegan entree options and they’re all very tasty. Their Spicy Potatoes are fantastic. They’re known for their chai and offer plant-based milk options. I love the Ginger Cardamon Chai.

Good food— go for lunch though - Edit
They have an amazing lunch box special everyday which is vegan friendly. I say go for that. The Nepali Indian food mix is all wonderful and yummy but it’s dinner prices are just a little spendy for that

Amaaaaazing - Edit
My sister and I went here for dinner recently and now it’s our new favorite restaurant! I had the coconut spinach curry and my sister had the coconut, tofu, mushroom, and green peas. They were both so flavorful, and we were able to choose the spice level! The staff was also very nice & the service was quick.

Gave me chicken when I ordered tofu - Edit
I am still left with a bitter taste in my mouth about this place after receiving my order of mild tofu curry spicy and with chicken. The waiter took the cost of only my meal off the tab and gave me the correct dish to go, but it was a very disappointing (and disgusting) experience. I want to understand that it was a little loud and busy in there, but that is certainly an awful experience to have as someone that finds eating chicken repulsive.
Read moreThis experience is approaching a year ago, but it still bothers me. I have visited since, and their food was good, but not worth the price in my opinion. I would prefer and suggest visiting a more authentic Indian place that is more likely to be understanding of the importance of vegetarianism/veganism.
Pros: Clearly marked vegan items on menu , Vegetarian and vegan options
Cons: Accidentally served me chicken

Peaceful happy dinner here - Edit
Wonderful dinner here earlier this week. Momos are always fantastic! Coconut spinach curry, and Tofu, mushroom & peas entrees were so flavorful. They brought us extra hot pepper paste to make it even spicier. They have expanded their outdoor dining patio, with a wonderful water feature at the back wall. Only wish they had more than one restroom for the place; since it was rather crowded, due to the beautiful summer evening, the line for the restroom was never ending! But love the ambience, artwork, and the rich color palette in this repurposed old home on Hennepin in Uptown. It's been one of my favorite places.

Great food & service; other aspects could improve - Edit
Our food was excellent and there were lots of vegan choices. Spices were perfect. We arrived during happy hour and appreciated the reduced drink prices; however the red wine was served at a temperature that was far too warm. The funky atmosphere was pleasing and the floor was clean; however we didn't appreciated the spider webs on the ceiling over our table. Service was great -- very pleasant folks and I'm definitely returning.

The Chole is Addictive - Edit
Namaste is the first place I hit up when I'm back in town, I absolutely love it. It's on Hennepin in uptown, right next to the Duplex. They have a patio and outdoor seating, and it's really pretty in the summer because they put these white lights up. The inside is nice, with art from local artists.
Read moreTo start, they're best known for their chai, which can be ordered vegan with soy milk. I haven't tried them all, but the spicy masala is my personal favorite.
I've been very happy with the food every time. I've tried:
Mamacha: can't go wrong with tasty little tofu dumplings.
Spicy fried potatoes: I always get these during happy hour, they're tasty
Green soybeans: LOVE these, they're kind of spicy but cool and refreshing at the same time
Chana Chatpat: I actually didn't like this a whole lot, because I don't like raw onions.
Spinach salad: expensive for such a simple dish, but the dressing is really good.
Chole: This is addicting, and is my favorite thing in the world. I like to order it really spicy and ask for extra cilantro to put on top.
Plain paratha, aloo paratha, and roti: Can all be ordered vegan, are a good accompaniment if you're feeling extra hungry.
Almond curry: not vegan, but I liked it a lot with tofu when I was a vegetarian.
Zucchini with carmelized onions: This is surprisingly filling! A lot of flavor.
Carrot coconut creme brulee: Oh my god, heaven. This stuff is amazing.
The lunch boxes are a bit pricy, but you get a lot of food. They don't always have vegan lunch box options, so plan ahead.
Can you tell I love Namaste? If you only go there once in your life, definitely get the chole.
Pros: Nice atmosphere, Good for lunch, vegan chai
Cons: They also serve meat, a bit expensive

Cute, but slightly lacking - Edit
Namaste Cafe makes great chai and has excellent ambience, as well as a focus on local and organic foods (though it's not 100% vegetarian), but the service is lacking---our food took forty minutes to arrive and the waiters weren't very attentive. The food was light but seemed a bit flat in terms of spices and overall flavor. Prices were high, too, considering the quantity of food they give. I'll give it another shot, but was not totally impressed. I'd definitely take a vegetarian Indian restaurant over this place.
