No idea what I ate, but it was delicious!

I wandered in and started looking at the food options behind the glass, and one of the women came up and motioned to the plates. Nodded yes, and she turned back to the rice cooker, grabbed the ladle, and waited for me to nod. She then went to the glass case, and I think she was waiting for me to point at stuff, but I had absolutely no idea what anything was. So she just started motioning towards stuff and waiting for me to nod. I ended up with red/pink rice, some veg, and some mock meat. The mock meat was ridiculously good, the veg were all cooked well, and I couldn’t finish my plate! And it only came to 45 baht.

No English at all there, but when you know it’s vegan (it has the ‘17’ symbol all over), I guess it doesn’t really matter? Obviously not ideal if you have any allergies though!

Pros: Cheap, Delicious, Huge portions

Cons: No English

Ideal for your flesh-craving friends

We often go to this place as it is very close to Art-C hostel where we climb indoors 3 times a week. It's a typical small Jay (vegetarian) restaurant where they serve a buffet. They have one particular dish that looks like beef and surprise, surprise.... It tastes EXACTLY like beef.

The taste, the texture... it's nuts! Or should I say: it's mushrooms! I have no idea what type of mushroom it is and how on earth they get it to be so similar to meat but I do know it is delicious. Fool yourself or your friends and treat yourself to a nice jay meal.

Pros: Good food, Mock meats are incredible , Convenient location

Cons: It closes in the afternoon so no dinner

Taiwan owner

I live nearby this place. Its very tasty and not a typical Thai place because the owner is from Taiwan. She speaks quite good English if she's around. I'm sure the food is vegan but I'll confirm next time I'm there. The portions are larger than a normal Thai place and the price is slightly more as well as in 5 bath or so. The food is tasty and you can actually taste the veggies and so on because they don't use much spice. Some of it is spicy though. The mock meat is extra so if you order that don't be surprised. Often times they have brown rice. They have noodle soup which is great as most of the jai restaurants no longer serve it. The staff is friendly and mostly from Myanmar. They've opened another restaurant on the same street as immigration more towards downtown. Both places normally close around 1-2pm not 4pm from my experience. Tasty food.

100% vegan food

Good food, huge variants in buffet. Everytime can find what to eat.

This is Chinese jay place. It's mean no animal products in the food by religion. Thais don't use butter for cooking, just oil.

Try "fish" with ginger, dim sum, hor-mok, tom yam.

Delicious and cheap

So good! All vegetarian, there are fake meats which are really good, I’m pretty certain it was all vegan. Apparently there is dairy in some of the drinks though(?) You get a plate of rice two servings of the variety of dishes displayed behind the glass for just 45 baht per plate. Pretty good price for Phuket!!

Lovely Local Eatery

After spending a week in veganless Rawai, discovering this little gem less than a kilometre from my hostel was a godsend. Had a very generous serving of 'quay teow nam' (noodle soup) for breakfast - packed with veggies, tofu and mock meat - and returned for a plate of red rice, heaped with three of the multitudinous curries from the Bain Marie, for lunch. Was still hungry and about to order seconds, when I noticed the serving sizes of the local patrons who'd just arrived: not a third the size of mine!! The women who operate the place are lovely too (they don't appear to speak any English, so mastering a few key words and phrases is useful). Both dishes set me back a mere THB 40 each, felt so bad I bought some packets of takeaway stuff I didn't need.

Pros: large selection of dishes, lovely staff, inexpensive, generous portions

Cons: only open till 1pm

Not Vegan!

This a vegetarian only restaurant. I went there today and was told by two people that there were no vegan items available! Apparently everything has butter in it. So if you are vegan, don't waste your time going there. The buffet looked good and the place looked clean with friendly staff.

Cheap!

This place was a bit tricky to find, use the happy cow maps and you'll find it. I copied the address into google maps and it took me 300 meters away from the restaurant. I eventually found it.
This place is cheap. I got a plate, filled it with rice and helped myself to the dishes(buffet style). I got 3 plates of food in total over lunch, the first was 55 Baht, second was 45 Baht, third was 30 Baht. I think the ladies there just eye ball it and give you a price. Regardless it's cheap!
Apart from the price, the food is good! you can make it as healthy or unhealthy as you like.
Also keep in mind all the food in the morning so get there as early as possible if you want fresher food.

Pros: Cheap

Cons: Foods cooked and sits out

Yummy food nice staff, no English

Nice little hole in the the wall type of restaurant. I didn't understand the system and there were no other customers to watch so I just pointed at something that looked like a red curry and to the rice pot and also to a banana leaf bundle. I gestured that I would sit down there and eat. Staff gestured to me to go get water my self from the water station with steel cups and a large thermos. From the thermos I got hot water and then they showed me an ice bucket that I was supposed to get ice from, to cool the water down. The food was really good! The red curry was hot and the banana leaf bundle contained sticky rice and fake meat filling that was rather sweet. I payed 40 baht for this little feast.

Pros: Everything is supposed to be vegan (so I guess it , Tasty food , Cheap

Cons: There was a rat coming in to the restaurant that s, Even if you see the food you have no idea what&#39

delicious first meal

My girlfriend Heidy and I ate here after our bus ride from the airport. It was easy to find and delicious. And very affordable. 50 baht a plate. And she's an omnivore!
