Thai! - Edit
I love Nadon Thai - one of my fave places in Durham from when I would eat literally anything and everything on the menu. Their allergen menu is available online so I was able to work out what I wanted in advance. Had mushroom soup and spring rolls to start, followed by Thai spicy basil tofu which they made without oyster sauce on request. The service here is quite leisurely but I'm a firm believer that if you're in a hurry, you're not having a good time.

It was alright - Edit
We went in for lunch on my birthday and ended up going for the lunch offer. We intended to get starters but there was only one vegan starter on the menu which didn't tickle our fancy so we just ordered curries. I had a green curry, which was nice but nothing to write home about.
Read moreThe portion wasn't huge but that might have been due to it being the lunch menu, so it would have really benefitted from being eaten in combination with a starter.
Staff was nice but not super knowledgeable and dishes were not labelled very well either so not an easy place to eat for vegans.

Fine Thai dining - Edit
I’ve found the sit in dining is better than take away. Excellent quality food, lovely chunky tofu and vegetable. I always get the red curry which is delicious. I enjoy coming here.

Tasty vegan options - Edit
We went for the happy hour menu which is 2 courses for £12.95. Staff were really friendly and helpful in telling us what could be made vegan. The food was delicious. We'll be back next time we're in Durham!

Good every time - Edit
I’ve enjoyed a few lovely lunches and happy hour evening specials here at £12.95 usually starting with vegetable tempura followed by a fragrant red tofu and vegetable curry or an extra spicy jungle curry washed down with a pint of Singha. Always wise to confirm you don’t want fish or oyster sauce in your curry just in case. They are very vegan friendly and eager to accommodate. Traditional interior, friendly staff and a loyalty scheme if you think you’ll be a regular visitor. I’ve always found it to be a very good experience at Nadon.

Allergen menu, good food - Edit
The food is nice, but vegan items on the menu are not identified. Instead you have to sift through the longer allergen menu. Most currys are vegan. The stir frys are all listed with oyster sauce, but I suppose they might do them without if you ask (we had the nice currys). It is up a hill hidden a little around a corner.
