One of a few vege places around Centre Point mall. Probably the best.
If walking along Jl Vetran away from the mall, look out for a sign for it's old name - Green Leaf.
Decent selection of pre cooked food to choose from as well as a small menu on the wall (which might escape your notice).
The pre cooked food is self serve. They take a sly look at your plate and you pay on the way out. Unless you pile on the fake meats it shouldn't cost much. A few choices on rice = cRp.18-25,000.
On my last visit I felt that some choices were a bit disappointing compared to past visits, but overall I'd say it's still good.
I've noticed a few posts by tourists about these kind of places complaining that the prices are unclear / being overcharged. Generally speaking I dont think they do go in for overcharging (not by much if at all) in Medan, but it can be a bit confusing, particularly for newcomers without the language. As a guide, if your choices consist of vegetables or mainly veg with a little tofu/tempe/fake meat in it, then three choices on rice should be from rp. 15-25,000. I think the problem comes from when people pile on things that are higher priced such as the rendang mushroom balls (6-8000 each). If concerned you could ask before getting stuck into your food. Not so hard to learn Indonesian numbers.
This has some great reviews but we were a bit disappointed. Nearby Vetran Vegetarian was full of people at all times of the day but this place was deserted. Had dinner one evening here and the lady was classic Indonesian as in would not even try to communicate via visual aids or using a calculator to help us work out how much etc. When we finally worked out the price it was too much for this type of dish in similar places that taste much better! She had also encouraged us to take a certain mock meat dish but this was priced per slice, not as a serving. I was not truly satisfied with the service here and I do not like eating places normally where there are no locals eating! Always a bad sign in my book.
Absolutely loved this little place. Since arriving in Medan we’ve been having slightly more of a trouble locating vegan food but I’m so glad I decided to give this once a go. Despite their being no reviews on this app, I reached out to google reviews and found a heap of happy customers - enough to persuade us it to journey out for the night. Firstly, the staff here are absolutely lovely. We got lost along our way and ended up arriving as the poor guy was probably getting on his bike to head off, but a smiley greeting and reassuring gesture had us seated inside - no worries. The food is presented in a buffet style where you help yourself - we were given little tips on the favourites and it did NOT disappoint. The mock meats were inexplicably good and the spicy flavours definitely hit the spot. My boyfriend is an avid meat eater and even he said “this beef is better than anything I’ve been eating”. (After dragging him to disappointing vegan dinner to dinner, this was a huge breakthrough). Just a lovely place all in all - and we will be back tomorrow !

Affordable place to eat. - Edit
Situated on a residential road with a large sign outside.
Read moreHad a large plate of food which would have been tasty had it not all been cold.
All vegan.
Paid 43 000 for a full plate (no mock meats), an iced tea (only option for drinks) and a packet of cassava crisps.

Nice little buffet - Edit
When I entered an older gentleman greeted me and his niece then helped me get my food and offered me tea. It was all good food, I left nothing.
