Serves meat, vegan options available. A pan-Asian restaurant with many clearly labeled vegan items on the menu, including vegetable fried rice, sweet and sour tofu, and a vegan dessert of the day, plus many more. Please note that the seasoned rice has chicken broth, so order either plain white rice or brown rice. The teriyaki sauce, sweet and sour sauce, and several other sauces are vegan - ask your server. Labels gluten free items. Open Mon-Sun 11:00am-10:00pm.

Not what I'd remembered or hoped - Edit
Went last night to The Mustard Seed after not having been there since they remodeled and after reading the reviews on this site. I remembered them having several marked vegan main dishes and the reviews here seemed to confirm that.
Read moreThis visit was a very different experience. I was initially excited to see that "V" meant vegan on their list of symbols but then disappointed to see that only 2 menu items, both appetizers, were marked with a "V". On the up side, the waitress was good and she described a couple options the kitchen had available (not on the menu) to provide me with a meal and what they prepared (a vegan version of their Taco with tofu). It as nothing special but tasty enough and a good sized amount of food. The other option was a stir-fry of veggies which they could make with one of a couple vegan sauces. I didn't try that so can't comment. There was no vegan dessert option.
Pros: Waitress and kitchen came up with a couple options, Food was tasty enough
Cons: Reviews here led to disappointment, Menu was misleading, The place was noisy and not very clean

Wow! This may be one of the best vegan options in Missoula! - Edit
Their website isn't updated and doesn't list their vegetarian / vegan options, so I was pleasantly surprised when I found out that the menu in the restaurant includes a vegetarian page with most of the options vegan! Options include vegetable fried rice, sweet and sour tofu (this one's the BEST!), teriyaki tofu, and some others... there is also ALWAYS one vegan dessert, which rotates, but is often a berry crisp with vegan vanilla ice cream. I was really impressed with the Mustard Seed, and that sweet and sour tofu is something that I'd crave! The staff were really knowledgable about what was vegan and eager to please, and actually, the first time I went, the server was vegan too!

Thoughtful to vegans appetizers through dessert - Edit
We were very pleased with the craft and care of the food here. Both tofu dishes we had were light and cooked perfectly. The vegan fruit crisp was delicious. Everything presented with care, beautifully.
Read moreThe only “con” was I wish that cooked vegetables came with the tofu dishes, I was glad I had a salad, the slaw was delicious but small.
