Heerrrrrlijk

On the menu you can choose between plates for when you’re a little bit hungry or for the big appetite. I think it is a cool way to reduce food waste to offer big and small portions. I had the shroom biddy bye bye pitta with potato wedges. It was from the “big appetite” part of the menu because I was rather hungry. At 18,5 euro I was expecting to get a good filling meal. It was not. It was 1 small pita bread cut in half filled with nothing sticking out. The taste was ok but nothing wow. On the menu the drink I ordered was Spa bruis, a belgian brand of sparkling water. At 3 euro a normal price. But then they gave me carbonated tap water. Again, I do this myself at home, carbonating tap water, so I do not dislike it, but don’t sell it as a brand and certainly do not ask 3 euro for it. A teaspoon scoop of vegan mayo to go with the potato wedges…1,5 euro…
So I ended up paying 24 euro for tap water, a small pita and a couple of potato wedges.

Hi Koen,

First of all, we didn't sold you carbonated tap water for 3 euros, we would feel ashamed to do something like that. We have big bottles of "Spa water", a belgian brand that we poor out in tiny cans, it's easier for us to work that way, and we think it just looks nice. We understand you might have thought that, but if you asked us immediately in person, we could've told you directly, instead of putting a false claim on the internet.

Our pitabread is handmade en the weight is 160grams, this is rather a big portion than small. We cut it in two because of the size. It is easier to eat it that way, especially if you wanna eat it out of the hand.

We ask 1 euro of vegan mayo, because nothing is for free for us as well. We always give 2 big teaspoon of sauce.

It's possible that the meal wasn't enough and that it wasn't "wow" for you. That's a personal thing, totally fine.

It would've been nice, you told us all of these things in real life, and gave us a feedback directly, especially about the water, so we could clear a few things up for you.

Anyway, thanks for your honest feedback. We always try to improve ourselves.

Try this, you will not regret it 😍

Where vegan food is the new standard and hummus is not on the menu, because vegan and veggie is more than that!

Pros: Not the standard falafels and hummus , home made dishes, With a nice fine flavour and a happy team Serving

Cons: That my dish was empty 😉

Gemütliches Café

Die Auswahl ist in Ordnung und es wird alles frisch zubereitet, es ist jedoch nicht so günstig. Die mitarbeitende Person war sehr nett.

Friendly owners & great potential

I came here twice since the opening and enjoyed both their vegan options: an oyster mushroom pita and a jackfruit bun. Only the baked potato wedges on the side were a bit greasy and could've been more crispy, but it was still ok. They also have a vegan starter (onion bhaji) and a vegan dessert (chocolate mousse) which were both really nice as well. Not for every day, as there's not really a decent source of protein in the meals except for the chocolate mousse which was made with silken tofu, but perhaps that might change with future menus as they're still rather new. Since the restaurant is quite small and we didn't go for the take-out option, we got to have a conversation with the owners on both occasions and they were really friendly and open for feedback, so I do hope they will try to veganise other dishes as well in the future, especially the easy stuff like pancakes.

Cosy new place to discover in Ghent

What a lovely place!

Glad to have a new space in this area of the city to get some vegan food. We stopped by for a smoothie, a burger and a pancake. The space indoors is limited but they optimised it, resulting in a cosy interior. Service was very friendly and thoughtful for the 3-year-old that joined. He enjoyed a fresh pancake. Unfortunately, it wasn't vegan. I wondered the same with some other items on the menu, why they weren't veganised :)

The smoothie with apple, strawberry and basil was my favourite.
Prices were very reasonable.

Cons: Use of disposables e.g. the straws
