SO FRIKKEN CUTE!!! - Edit
We stopped in at Mukbap for our last lunch in London today and were greeted by the owners mother - the warmest, most wonderful human with a beautiful energy who welcomed us into their small shop with our giant bags and made room for us, despite the restaurant being quite full already. She chatted to us while we ordered and was genuinely interested in what we were up to, where we’d come from, and our cat. I know it seems a little irrelevant to the review but I can’t stress just how much chatting to her made our day.
Read moreAs for the food, it was fu**ing awesome. We got the japchae, the spicy cucumbers, the sushi roll and the vegie pancakes. We will be back on our next trip for sure!

Cute vegan place - Edit
Amazing authentic Korean food, we all loved what we ordered (beef bibimbap, seaweed, and dumplings) and the vegan substitutes were great.

Delicious! - Edit
I really enjoyed my visit to MukBap! It’s only a small restaurant, with seating for only around 10 people, so it’s worth arriving early. Me and my wife arrived just after it opened at 12 and it wasn’t long until it was full.
Read moreThey have an interesting menu and we went for a variety of dishes including Kimchi Pancake (Kimchijeon), Crispy Fried Seaweed Rolls (Kimmari) and Fat Roll (Kimbap) for starters, and Sweet Potato Noodle (Japchae) and “Beef” with Rice (Bulgogi) for mains.
I really enjoyed all of the food! There were lots of different flavours and textures and it was all really tasty and satisfying. I particularly enjoyed the Kimchi Pancake which was delicious. The seaweed rolls were also so good! The Sweet Potato Noodle had a great flavour and I really enjoyed the texture of the noodles in the dish. The “beef” in the Bulgogi also had a great meaty texture and rich flavour.
All the food was delicious and I would definitely recommend a visit!
Pros: Delicious flavours, Interesting dishes
Cons: Limited seating

Great if you've never had Korean food - Edit
This little restaurant looks cute and the staff (we only interacted with one person) was lovely. It is very small and doesn't have a toilet, I would suggest the owner to pair up with a nearby pub for the customers to use the loos (I've seen it done in other small restaurants).
Read moreNow to the food: if you've never had Korean food, don't know how to cook any Asian dish or never set food in an Asian supermarket, this place will make you happy. The food is good but quite simple, and a few dishes simply come out of a bag, like the seaweed rolls. I love them, they are very tasty and I used to buy them frozen so I am 100% sure that they are the same. Gimbap was fresh and nice, kimchi jeon (kimchi pancake) came out very quickly so I'm inclined to think it was premade. The kimchi stir fried rice was really good, my favourite of the food we've tried. I would have liked to try the mandu but didn't because they were 4£ for 3 which to me is ridiculously expensive.
I was looking forward to this restaurant but I don't think I'll go back. There's a Korean restaurant near the Barbican with a separate vegan menu and you can have authentic bibimbap in the stone dish, so if you're not in a hurry, go there.
Pros: Kimchi fried rice
Cons: No loos, Some dishes are shop bought frozen , A little overpriced

Overrated - Edit
Disappointed with my order. The kimbap lacked fresh flavour and the inclusion of sausage with an unhealthy sauce was off-putting. As for the “cucumber kimchi”, it was merely fresh cucumber slices in gochujang, lacking the fermentation entirely... not exactly what’s expected and didn’t leave a particularly good impression.

I went yesterday and it was a disappointment, I also didn't expect those sausages in the gimbap and even in the fried rice ... !

This small cafe style place served up what seemed to be unashamedly authentic Korean food, very reasonably priced for central London. Service was quick, and the food was very flavoursome. Would love to come back and work through everything on the menu.

Small but mighty - Edit
We came here on a Friday evening and were very unlucky because a group of 8 or 9 people arrive just before us, taking up more than half of the seating in this small place. Nevertheless we decided to wait and after 35mins got some seats. We ordered a mix of dishes and shared the as a 3 and it was the best way to try as many things as possible. Everything was tasty and worth the wait!

The best Korean Fried ‘Chicken’ - Edit
Finally made it to this lovely little place. Got a takeaway and WISH I’d got more of the Fried Chicken. It is delicious! The bimbimbap was super yummy and the beef replacement is delicious. The sweet potato noodles are also very well cooked and seasoned. Will definitely be back!

This little restaurant is honestly amazing. We got so much to try and everything was delicious! It’s not cheap, but it’s not expensive - kind of a standard price for London. Only downside is the seating area is particularly small! We got: kimchi pancake, cucumber kimchi, kimbap, beef bibimbap, crispy tofu bibimbap and kimchi fried rice!

Authentic and bursting with flavour - Edit
A colleague recommended MukBap to me, so I had to give it a shot when I was in London. The place is tiny and, from what I've been told, it gets packed super quickly, and I totally understand why. The food is fantastic! I had the spicy "pork" with rice (delicious) with a side of three veg (even more delicious). The prices are reasonable for London, and the portions large enough to fill you. I'm definitely coming back next time I'm around.
