Restaurant turned vegan in 2017. Has a daily changing menu. Regular items include vegan desserts, salads, vegan soups, vegan balls (like fellah or falafel). Also has a small books and gift shop. Located in the Yeldegirmeni Quartier of Central Kadikoy. The access is either by m4 underground line Kadikoy station or by ferry from Besiktas-Eminonu-Karakoy (etc.) to Kadikoy pier. Friendly atmosphere for stray/pet animals. Reported closed with plans to relocate, Nov 2020 - please send updates.

Wonderful little cafe/restaurant. Delicious dishes including some great vegan versions of Turkish dishes. Very peaceful and friendly with doors open to the street on a hot summer night.

Amazing little Bistro! - Edit
If you ever find yourself wandering around the Istanbul neighbourhood of Kadiköy, this is the place you mustn't miss! Friendly and patient staff (our waitress was fluent in english, and even a native speaker of our native language, German) will cater to all your needs, and the food is diverse, creative and overall splendid and more than worth its price. They're also very friendly to all the neighbourhood's (stray) pets, which is a huge plus. We plan to visit this place again, and so should you!
Read morePros: many vegan variations of traditional turkish food,
Cons: there's really no reason to not go, in my opinion.

Favourite place in Istanbul - Edit
This place is so underrated. I went here on my last day in Istanbul and wish I knew it before.
Read moreFor me it's the best place in Istanbul, BY FAR!
My non-vegan boyfriend also really loved the food and how the vegan wrap tasted just like meat.
Go for the mix platter to try out many delish stuff.
Pros: Amazing food, Cute little place

Happy to find this place when others were closed on January 1st. Tasty food, homemade pickles, cute interior, good prices. Portions were pretty small, we got 3 meals for 2 people. As a very tall person, I barely fit in the toilet. :D

A friendly place - Edit
Muhtelif Mekan is a warmly decorated café in Yeldegirmeni area, Kadıkoy. Their staff is super friendly, food is good and cats are all cute.
Read moreThe dishes are usually well spiced and delish but when it comes to size... It's not possible to get satisfied with a main dish here, so that you need to order an extra salad or desert, which means at least a ''25 TL'' bill, which is not very (student-)budget friendly.
Pros: Great location, Free Wifi, Friendly and Helpful Staff
Cons: Sundays closed, Dish sizes

Great food and a nice atmosphere - Edit
We came here for dinner on a Thursday night and absolutely loved it. The lady working there was very polite and friendly, and recommended the platter of Turkish dishes and the seitan wrap, both of which were delicious. She also brought some pastries and fruit which may have been extras, or included in the platter.
Read moreThere was a sweet little kitten roaming around the place, and the restaurant had a very relaxed, hippyish atmosphere.
It came to 50 TL for us both, which seemed very reasonable to us.
We would love to come back again to try some more delicious Turkish food!
Pros: All vegan, Traditional dishes, Nice staff

Nice little restaurant - Edit
This place is now all vegan.
Read moreDecor/etc: It doesn't have the same outdoor seating as Mahatma, but has a nice interior with multiple tables, and opens up to the street. The menu is in Turkish, but they speak English.
Food: I had the durum, which seemed to be seitan based. It was filling and flavorful. The sode salad was really nicely dressed but otherwise kind of plain. I also had a chocolate brownie, which was very good but a tiny bit dry. Would get both again.

The best vegan restaurant in town - Edit
Muhtelif Mekan is a great place run by young people. The menu is all vegan now and includes meatless versions of Turkish specialties as well as seitan, meatballs, salads, soups and desserts. The cafe has a really cozy atmosphere with lots of cats to sit on your lap while you enjoy your food. Seitan wrap with mushrooms and bell peppers are my favorite dish, but you can also buy a mixed plate and taste almost everything they have in store.

Cons: none
