Ask for their vegan/vegetarian menu that has lots of choice. We had the fried tofu-vege balls to start. They were light and golden fried with a kiss of red sauce on each. Following that we had the Japanese stir fried udon noodles with veges and added tofu (tofu is extra $). Also, the Chinese hot spicy home noodles (the rice noodles are cold with a layer of veges, cooked tofu and a delicious spicy sauce….mix it well and enjoy the superb flavors). We could have eaten the same meal twice it was so good. We also had some Jasmine tea. The service was excellent.

We were so happy to find this lovely vegetarian-owned business while visiting Tauranga. The food was all so delicious and fresh and so well priced! We shared a few starters and a main (noodles), as well as a bubble tea each, and were absolutely stuffed. We love dumplings and have sampled them at so many eateries and these were some of the best we've had. It was also so lovely to be able to enjoy vegan milk tea with our meal. We will definitely be returning to Mudan the next time we're in Tauranga!

Been here twice. The first time for my daughters birthday, they were very friendly and accommodating. Staff played happy birthday on the big screen. Great food selection for vegans and non vegans.

Absolutely love this place, has always been a go to for me, the tofu balls, seasonal veges and the vegan dumplings are my favourites. Super super friendly staff and have never had a problem eating here.

There was quite a wait because it was 11 am and I dont think they were quite setup for lunchtime yet but it was a pleasant place to sit and relax.
Lots of tables so it would be good if you had a group of people and needed some space.
Pros: Lots of vegan options and they make their own tofu
Cons: Food took a while but I came at an odd time

They have a lot of vegan dishes and are absolutely vegan friendly. We had dumplings and BBQ Tofu. Both was super delicious. Also nice are the organic lemonades.

Delicious food. A popular place for vegan meetups so staff are great at advising on food. Plates of dumplings are popular, but there are lots of other options. They make the tofu and dumplings so you can buy some and take them home.

Lots of tasty vegan options. Very friendly and accommodating service. Sign outside clarifying vegan options are on offer so felt extra welcome as a vegan. We keep going back as we always enjoy the food and service at MuDan. Recommended!

Lovely staff and they have so many vegan options, and are happy to alter menu items to make them vegan. I had a vegan bibimbap and fried dumplings, can't fault them aye. Definitely will be returning.
Read moreUpdate 29/09/18 - went back and got the mapo tofu on rice. It was black rice with fried onion, carrot, celery, parsnip, cabbage and tofu in mapo sauce. Holy hell. Recommend.

Amazing tofu - Edit
Had vegetarian bibimbap and was so in love with the tofu strips. The veggies are fresh and tasty, the multigrain rice is fragrant and when everything is mixed with the tangy bibimbap chilli sauce, BOOM! I've already planned my next visit.
