Small amount of vegan options in a welcoming environment - Edit
Mrs B's Tea Rooms has at some point had an overhaul of the menu and is significantly smaller on both the "regular" and vegan side of things. There are only two vegan options on the menu now, and one vegan cake (Cherry Bakewell on my visit). Alternative milk is available.
Read moreOn my visit I had the Vegan cheese, tomato and pickle sandwich which comes with a small salad garnishing and some crisps on the side. There isn't much to say about an option like that, it was as good as it could have been, decent filling and nice bread
The cake was incredible, generous portion and very tasty.
It is a very welcoming atmosphere and the staff are very friendly. Only gets 3/5 due to only having two vegan choices.

Teashop taster - Edit
The tea was very good with oat mlk option. Served in pretty china. Tried the only vegan cake choice which was carrot and ginger. Surprisingly it was very dry and gritty, carrot cake is normally very moist. Lots of ginger flavour though.

Vegan friendly - Edit
There was a separate side of the menu for vegan and veggie options which was lovely to see. Out of season (Jan) they didn’t have much available but we both managed to have a sandwich (cheese, tomato and pickle vegan ham salad.

Several options but nothing to go crazy for - Edit
We stopped here for lunch based on the previous Happy Cow reviews and whilst it definitely seemed like the best option in the area its not going to blow your mind. I had thr chicken salad sandwich and my BF had the bacon sandwich. Both are made with out of the packet Quorn style mock meats. Obviously really easy to make this at home, but we weren't at home so were happy to have the option.
Read moreThey had a lovely looking selection of cakes but sadly none were vegan, one was dairy free but it still had eggs in it.
They had non-dairy milk and the coffee was good so that was a win.
Overall, it was a good option in a fairly non-vegan friendly town.
Pros: A few options, Good selection of drinks, The staff were switched on to veganism

Quaint traditional tea room with wonderful vegan options - Edit
We loved this traditional English tea room! The staff were very aware of what vegan meant and were willing to speak to us about possible food allergies prior to ordering. We ordered several of the vegan sandwiches which were awesome and the staff was super friendly. Great prices too! Well worth the visit if you're in the area. It's fairly small with a half dozen tables inside and a couple outside so get there early. They have a sister shop called the Picnic Hut down the street a few doors which also offers vegan options.

Fab Service + Vegan Cake - Edit
Not only is the menu clearly labelled, the cook and staff went out of their way to check everything was suitable, double checking with me that the violife butter was in fact, vegan. It was clear they wont often cook using substitutes, but they asked for advise on b*con cooking times and colour changing ( or lack of) using alternative milks. Very friendly place, i felt very comfortable there. Will be back.

Well adapted traditional English lunch food - Edit
I really enjoyed my cheese ploughman's for lunch, a dish I'd missed since going vegan. There are plenty of veggie/vegan options and the staff were friendly and very accommodating. Sadly they didn't have any vegan cakes as apparently they weren't selling when they did, hopefully that'll change if people go in and ask!
