Best vegan chippy in York - Edit
The staff here were lush.. they cooked our meal fresh. The batter was immense and the chips were awesome.. we passed on the off-chance and would deffo return. The food was great and the vegan option very good..

Excellent vegan fish and chips - Edit
The first place (as far as I know!) to do vegan fish and chips, made with banana blossom. The batter is delicious and the chips are perfect chip shop chips! The banana blossom is quite convincing in terms of texture, although the taste is different to fish. We had some hash browns too, which were a bit more like potato cakes, and the vegan tartare sauce, which was very good. The portion size was adequate, and we are both very hungry people! We did ask for large chips. During the Covid lockdown, the restaurant is closed so it is just a takeaway. You can order through the Mr Chippy app, Deliveroo, Just Eat or visit the takeaway and pick food up there.
Read moreUpdate: we've now tried the battered vegan sausage, which is also delicious. A portion includes two sausages. If push came to shove, I would choose the banana blossom "fish" out of the two options!
