Best falafel in town.

We loved the wraps, the spicy falafels and the juices!
Amazing place to sit and relax, as for a grab and go too.

Refreshing juices

I tried the carrot, apple and ginger juice and it felt so refreshing and well balanced in taste.

A great place

Mr Blou is a warm and welcoming character. This is an outdoor cafe near the canal. I had avocado/courgette toast and it was very good. Nice coffee too.

Pros: All plant based , Mr Blou himself!, Setting

Just a vibe!

Considering this is just a food truck by a big road, the owners are working really hard to make it a welcoming place with a good atmosphere and they really are succeeding! It's a super friendly, welcoming place that feels like a big hug. When we were there everyone was talking to each other, laughing and dancing to the music on the radio, just really great vibes. The wraps are really good too, super filling and well made. Let's face it, we've all eaten about 75 million falafel wraps by now, but this one is just a really good version, filling, tasty, generous and hits the spot when you're hungry. Sweet place!

Awesome find!

Stumbled upon this place wandering around Amsterdam and so glad I did. Such a cute little food stand! Staff was very kind and falafel wrap was delicious.

Different at least

Not sure how to feel about it. There's a little terrace in front which is nice but it seems a lot of people like mounting the pavement with bikes and scooters to get to the carpark further up (not Mr Blou's fault obviously). It got quite busy just after I'd sat down and I could smell that spice you can always smell in organic food shops. I'd been heartily recommended this place by an old colleague and the owner did used to be a Michelin star cook (or chef? Can't remember); I could see at least he had good knife skills.

I got a falafel salad that came with avocado on it. It was an odd salad for me: it had raw spinach as the leafy green, radish, beetroot, celery, cherry tomatoes, and three pieces of falafel (I would've expected more pieces) with a sort of tstatsiki dressing. The taste of the falafel didn't really come through so I isolated a bit of it to try and it struck me as a bit bland. You'd call it fresh or healthy if you were being charitable. It might be that I'm used to fattier falafel or something but it seemed to be very mildly seasoned. The chickpea stood out more than I'm used to when I looked at the inside and it had quite litle breading, it seemed. I wonder if it's baked without oil or something, or if I'd just had a bad batch. They seemed to be struggling a little bit with keeping up with orders so I wonder if there was a hiccup with the stock. It happens.

Anyway I paid €15 for that and I'm not totally convinced I was satisfied. The other customers seemed to really enjoy their food and drinks so who knows. I don't know if the three tins of porter I'd had last night contributed to this but it also went through me quicker than the filth through your business. I'd neither recommend it nor tell you to avoid it, I think.

Nothing special

They're really trying to make this a nice stall to sit outside when the weather is nice, but the food just isn't worth going there for.

Cons: Mediocre food

boss

the falafel avocado wrap is boss. It’s very exotic but actually quite tasty. The addition of pomegranate, avocado, and chili sauce really brings a regular falafel wrap up a couple notches. The lime poppy seed bread is also insane. would come again. highly recommend.

Great food

The lady who served me was really helpful with recommendations regarding how hungry I was and what size items were I would just say that the wrap should be cut in half and then wrapped for easier eating then taken away.

Pros: All vegan , Good portions , Fresh

Cons: Expensive , Not wrapped well for takeaway

Really friendly owner

Very colorful place in the middle of the gray, hard city. All the ingredients are displayed in front of you and they look great. Owner is very talkative, makes an effort for you to feel welcomed. Had the avocado falafel. It was great. Would definitely recommend.

Incredible unassuming spot

I had the a great falafel wrap with avocado — Mr Blou mixes it up with some exotic additions like daikon and cilantro. You’ve got to see what its like, I’m planning on using something like his recipe next time I make a wrap.
Mr Blou himself is a interesting guy, very real. The spot has a nice energy, flowers. Quite lovely

I ended up asking him about the bad review I saw of his by Tyropotistiri, since I questioned coming here when I saw it, and he told me what happened. She was apparently incredibly demanding, and started to personally insult him. The girl and her 6 friends ate the food, were happy with it, but then something happened and she decided to leave with her friends, without paying. I’d say ignore the review, he makes amazing food with passion and I’m so happy I came in here

Lunch at Westergas

Had a falafel wrap and a smoothie at Westergas festival last weekend. The place was super busy which meant the service was really quite slow. Smoothie a bit disappointing - quite pricey for what it was and was pretty warm. Wrap was super tasty but I was really disappointed to find a hair in my mouth as I was taking my penultimate bite :(

Pros: Good flavours

Cons: Slow service (it was super busy), Hair in the wrap :(

Mr Blou I hate you

One of the worst restaurant experiences of my life. Though 'restaurant' is not the proper term for this place, because it's nothing more than a food truck permanently parked next to a pissoir on Elandsgracht, the owner seems to overlook that fact and charges the food and products as much as they would in a fancy restaurant in the center of the city (which would at least provide its customers with access to a basic wc where they can piss, [censored] and wash their hands afterwards). 20 euros for a 7 -course meal of tiny portions, which I wouldn't mind if 'Mr Blou' hadn't admitted that he's planning to raise the price to 90 euros.
I passed by last night as a friend was hosting her birthday party there. It was obvious that the owner was completely failing at managing a big group of people that came to his food truck to get the 20e menu. As a result, or at least according to his allegations, six people left without paying. Instead of handling the situation calmly and with patience, all the while understanding that it's a bit too ambitious for a tiny food truck with only two tables of sitting space to host and cook for such a big group of people and that it would take more than a maximum amount of effort to make this work, the owner lashed out at his customers for 'being rude and not paying as much as they were supposed to'. Though this arose from a misunderstanding where two people had only had one course and not the full seven-course menu, Mr. Blou (who was already on the wrong as a service provider who failed to keep track of who's getting served and what) didn't keep his calm and addressed them in a disturbing passive-aggressive and manipulative manner, going through an unnecessarily long conflict with them even though this could have been avoided from the start had he been a proper store manager who can keep track of his [censored]. While hysterically trying to prove himself to them, he grabbed one of the girls' arm as to keep her from interrupting him, and her friend then told him to not touch her. He then snapped at her and she told him 'she can call people' only to intimidate him, and of course this gave him the perfect excuse to legitimize the entire of his completely out-of-line, unprofessional behavior because 'he was being threatened', which resulted in him asking her multiple times to '[censored]-off' in front of every one. Needless to say how much this whole drama made every customer who was witnessing that to feel extremely awkward and disturbed. When that girl l

Amazing vibe & food

From far away you smell the flowers and incense, and then the taste... I had the fine dining dinner on saturday here and it was fantastic. It feels like an oasis in a city under construction, and you forget everything around you. Really good food with a touch of history, beautiful flowers, fun music. But how special you feel to have this kind of "garden style" food party in the middle of a busy street is really what lifts everything to the next level!

Pros: food, wine, vibe

Cons: they were short on cutlery at some point haha!
