fun - Edit
Came here once for the experience. The interior decor is a lot of fun and the drinks were strong and tasty. We also got potatoes to share and they were really good. Pricey, so would only come back for special occasions.

5 Star Unique Experience - Edit
I rate this a 5 star experience just based on the ambience, and the fact that it’s all vegan. We tried most of the food menu, but the potatoes are definitely the star of the show. The tofu, rice and donuts were also good! The alcoholic drinks we got were fairly strong, and the presentation was great.
Read moreThe only ‘complaint’ I have about this place is that the food is tapas-style, meaning that the portions are relatively small. Don’t go in expecting to become full if you’re on a budget. We spent about $150 (4 people) and I got hungry 2 hours later. As long as you go in knowing this, it’s a 5 star experience!
The ambiance speaks for itself, I’ve never been inside a restaurant like it. Very much recommend going inside the restroom if you’d like to know what it’s like to use the restroom in the Death Star 🌌
Pros: Unique ambiance, Delicious food, Fine dining experience
Cons: Small portions, Illustrated menu can be hard to understand

Everything and everytime is magical and delicious. All vegan. Great aesthetics and design. Loved the Reuben smash burger and the cali burrito. Amazing michelada. Miss the portland location so much.

Fun experience - Edit
Very cool concept and something to experience for sure.
Read moreDrinks: delicious and creative, with warnings of being “very strong” (some have a limit), I felt they were a bit weak.
Food: I guess I should have been an elevated bar food mindset versus an elevated dining experience.
Service: Friendly and helpful staff. The timing was off, everything came very rushed. They ask you to enjoy your meal in a 90 minute window and wow did they work to get us done quickly.
I would come back though, for drinks and appetizer with a different expectation.
Pros: Atmosphere, Cocktails, Unique Concept
Cons: Rushed, Hard to make reservations , Loud

Cocktails & Ambiance - Edit
After learning that Mothership was starting a happy (or, as they call it, hyper) hour, a friend and I decided to give it a try. We walked in on a Tuesday at 5 and were told a table was an hour's wait, but there was standing room in the bar. Now we know if you want to sit, even on a weekday, it is best to make a reservation. We ended up ordering two cocktails that were tasty and very similar to their sister restaurant, Kindred. The bartender was friendly, but they are (in my opinion) understaffed, so everything took a bit of time to happen. The interior is cool, and the fact that it’s all vegan is the cherry on top for me. While I still prefer Kindred personally, I would stop by Mothership again and, next time, try food.

Incredible - Edit
The ambiance is over the top and fun. The food is top notch! Reservations are required, you cannot simply drop in for a drink or meal. Everything is tapas style, and the menu is short, so be prepared to share and order several items. It's pretty cold inside, so bring a sweater.

Not worth for dinner - Edit
We were very excited in trying this place, but… aside that the restaurant is pretty cool, the food is terrible, small portions and very expensive. The cocktails are good but again, filled up with ice, if you are lucky you will take 5 sips of your cocktail.😒

If you’re looking for an offbeat place to go, this is your spot! Futuristic themes and vegan food and drinks in a dark but colorful space. Food was tasty.

Lots of style, some substance - Edit
The interior design and theme harkens back to 70s retro futurism (think Star Wars) and the attention to detail is incredible. The drinks were my favorite part, followed closely by the soft serve. The food dishes were just ok–lots of flavors and very ambitious, nothing really stood out of the three dishes we ordered. Would go back but might skip food next time.

Outta this world! - Edit
Literally, this space themed vegan bar was so incredible! Amazing cocktails and ambience, it’s 1000% worth visiting. The attention to detail (from the custom music created for the bar to the super cool bathrooms - no spoilers but worth a peek) this place is a must visit when in San Diego.

An Experience more than anything - Edit
Been here twice and will probably not come back, unless it’s for a special occasion… Service is nice, although the server messed up our order during our second visit.
Read moreThis is definitely not a place to eat; for food, check out their other concept Kindred down the street - only come for their specialty cocktails (which were mediocre) and the actual experience which is unbeatable.

This is like eating at a michelin star restaurant at 1/4th the price.

space is so, so tiny but cool - Edit
Went here during their first week. Interior is impressive but the room to move around is nonexistent.
Read moreDrink I tried was some type of coconut chocolate cream with rum. Really good, but hard to enjoy when you’re standing in the middle of the bar area in everyone’s way. They let us inside the “standing room” and said to grab a seat when it opened up. That never happened. We were dodging other people and servers the entire time.
I would only come here with a table reservation. Not worth it to walk-in.
Pros: fully vegan, cool interior , good location
Cons: extremely small space, expensive menu and drinks
