Local market with emphasis on organic foods. Has a vegan-friendly deli offering grab-n-go juices, soups, and veggie burgers. Reported closed February 2022.
95 percent vegan grocer (honey and eggs) with a 100 vegan deli. The wraps we had bought in the cold case were great! We bought extras to eat with it, like pickles and extra Tofurky. This is a great way get an affordable meal with a lot of healthy food! The clerk hooked us up with a delicious curry soup, and you get to choose chips to go with your wrap.
I noticed they had a bulk section and a wide variety of healthy, pure snacks. Many raw options and a bunch of good looking produce options. They have toiletry items that are naturalist friendly.
They even have my favorite mineral water!
It's such a cute and cozy little find.
Their deli is small, but the avocado Reuben and fresh (made to order) juice was worth it. Some non-deli items were a little on the expensive side, but I'll be back.
To find an all vegan restaurant in Hood River was certainly a happy surprise. Had a delicious slice of vegan pizza with lots of veggies, a fresh carrot juice and some amazing banana soft serve. The owner was very friendly and helpful and interested in chatting with customers. We take a yearly trip to Hood River to buy peaches on the Fruit Loop and we will definitely be adding this little cafe to our yearly tradition. :)
You are right, Chuck, I intended to give this cafe an excellent rating, I don't know how it got messed up but it seems I am unable to change my review now or even delete it. I am sorry! I'm glad you pointed out the problem.
We stopped here after finding this place on happy cow. Everything is vegan. It is a very well stocked store with a deli in back.
The vegan pizza was made with a spelt crust with roasted veggies and pineapple - delish! The soup I tried was a tomato rice -also very good. We also had the banana soft serve-made with only bananas and topped with walnuts-amazing! The staff was very friendly and helpful. We will be back!
we were passing through town and found mother's market on happy cow. very easy to find. we had some delicious vegan pizza and two reasonably priced juices. very friendly staff and the owner gave us samples of some newly arrived organic cherries. we'll definitely be back. a great little store.
I really was impressed with this small cafe inside Mothers Market. I got a really great salad to go, with sprouts and all, and the best ice cream I've ever had, made with frozen bananas! I couldn't believe how good it was, and they topped it with maple syrup and walnuts, sooo good. If you are heading up the gorge or on your way to climb a mountain, don't forget to fuel up here!
