No longer my favourite place to eat in Brighton 😊 - Edit
I used to love this place, but tonight I had a real prawn in my vegan prawn tempura dish. I didn't realise it was a real prawn until I'd chewed it.
Read moreThis is the second time I've been given fish here instead of vegan fish.
It makes me so sad when I can't trust a place that says they cater for vegans, yet I end up putting a dead creature in my mouth.
Very disappointed 😞

Lots of vegan options, wheelchair accessible (kinda) - Edit
The food was delicious, the (many) vegan options were clearly marked and the staff were helpful.
Read moreRamps into restaurant for wheelchair access but the tables were fixed to the seating so I had to transfer out of my wheelchair to dine. I think there was more versatile seating out the back but there wasn't enough space to get there. The other suitable seating was outside but it was too cold for that.

Fabulous Japanese food! - Edit
Pretty much everything has a vegan version here including chicken, duck and king prawns. Today I opted for a “sushi boat” and it was absolutely fantastic! Included salmon and tuna sashimi which is genius, everything was fresh and beautiful and the service was very warm and friendly.

Some good options - Edit
I was told by the waitress that they don't have separate vegan deep fat friers, so despite the many vegan options not all of them are suitable.

Amazing sushi and loads of options - Edit
Delicious food, I loved the "moreish maki" we got which included vegan smoked salmon. A full 50% of the menu is vegan so there was loads of choice.

Great vegan sushi - Edit
Shared the vegan sushi boat between two people which cost £30 (really good value) and was easily enough for lunch. The sushi was delicious and fresh, nice crunchy vegetables in the rolls and incredible vegan fish - no idea how they made “salmon” and “tuna” sashimi but the texture was spot on and it wasn’t too fishy tasting. There was also clever “fish roe” made out of carrots I believe. There is soy sauce, wasabi and ginger on the tables. Slightly weird spot in a courtyard surrounded by a 60s hotel block but nice in the sun and great service.

Novel - Edit
It’s nice to have lots of vegan options and this place had variety.
Read moreWe ordered the sushi boat which was very novel. I gave three stars as we only really tried the sushi boat but not any of the other main dishes. Kind of wished we had ordered the latter.
The sushi could have been better as it was under seasoned and we weren’t given any wasabi or ginger.
The vegan prawn tempura was good though.
Cons: Under seasoned sushi rice

Lots of Vegan Sushi - Edit
This sushi restaurant is amazing if you’re vegan and want some unique sushi! They have so many vegan options I’ve never seen such an array of choice! I ordered the vegan sushi platter which is a random selection of vegan sushi and it was all really nice. A lot of their vegan sushi incorporates the ‘fake fish’ which I wasn’t a fan of. I didn’t like the imitation fish as it all tasted quite rubbery; I much prefer some delicious vegetable sushi which they didn’t have a lot of. However, it was super unique and unusual to try and it was something vegan that I’d never had before! I can see why this is popular with vegans because their vegan sushi menu is so innovative and far from basic! I didn’t love sitting in the restaurant though. I visited during covid restrictions so there were walls up between the seats and it felt very cramped. However, without that I’m sure it’s now very nice to sit in and it had a really cool vibe. The food is quite expensive but that’s expected when it comes to sushi. Staff know a lot about their menu and the vegan options too so our waiter was really friendly and helpful! I wouldn’t rush back here but that’s because the sushi just wasn’t to my preference but I would still recommend it to others!

Worth 5 stars! - Edit
Delicious fresh food, nice atmosphere and half the menu is vegan. Great for a mixed group of dietary choices as caters to all with a good selection of options for my gluten free pals too.
Read moreIf you are new go for a boat to try some bits out - the PB sashimi is worth trying to have tried it but my top recommendations are the leek gyoza, ‘chicken’ kang jung, inari tofu parcels, PB spicy tuna futomaki (or hand roll), the PB ‘kuru kuru’ cream cheese & salmon maki (and a fan of the ginger and lemon ice tea as a sober person)
If you would like to go regularly then look into a members card as is a sure way to keep going back without burning too bigger hole in your pocket and make your way through the menu.
Pros: Lots of vegan options, Delicious food , Friendly staff

Half the menu is vegan! - Edit
Sushi was my favourite food before going vegan and I’m so glad to have discovered Moshimo to get my fix!! The handrolls were my favourite, and the vegan fried shrimp tastes exactly the same as I remember real shrimp tasting.

you've never seen vegan sushi like this - Edit
This place is next level. You need to go and get the vegan sushi platter. I was blown away - took so many pictures to send to friends and family who just downright didn't believe that it was vegan. The flavours and variety are outstanding. I'd say the menu is 50% or more vegan, and it is extensive with all the dishes. There's a sushi train but I recommend just ordering off the menu. You can become a member for around £25 (as at Feb 2021) which gives you 50% off Mondays, Tuesdays AND Wednesdays for all vegan dishes. Seems too good to be true but it's real! We went through a big Moshimo Wednesdays phase before lockdown. Looking forward to going back!

JUST AMAZING! - Edit
Lovely authentic Japanese restaurant, so many vegan options. Stand outs for me were aubergine dengaku (the most delicious miso sauce) & the vegan chicken yakitori. I had 4 of the small plates, rice and miso soup which was also outstanding. Have made several trips to Japan (pre vegan) & found the flavours very authentic. Only the rice didn't quite meet expectations of traditional Japanese rice. Would happily eat here every week, but only visiting from North Yorkshire. Recommend whole heartedly. I felt prices justified by the quality of the food.

Good options but tiny portions! - Edit
A really good amount of vegan options but super pricey for the portion sizes - we ended up going out for dinner again after! Luckily we visited during day out to help out so our £40 meal was half price as sadly it wasn’t worth full price.
