expensive for the quality

it was okay. nothing crazy. the plate i got wasnt good to my taste buds but their other options do look better. the prices are high but i guess you pay for the quality and the freshness

Pros: fresh food, quality ingredients , local area to other things

Cons: not the best taste , expensive prices

Not much reason to go

Few options, and food is not very good. Odd interior that feels cold. Impossible burger is disgusting Frankenfood. Go back to a homemade veggie burger made out of actual veggies instead of that fat and salt laden garbage. When I see impossible or beyond on a menu I just turn around because the chef has no idea.

Avoid

One of the worst meals I've had in ages. As another reviewer noted, the Impossible burger is like cardboard and is served on over-toasted very dry bread with tasteless apples. The whole thing has almost no taste and is so dry it's nearly inedible. The lemon farro bowl was rubbeery, just had a couple of slices of lemon stuck on top as the lemon flavor, and was accompanied by over grilled, near tasteless vegetables. Wish I'd read the other recent reviews closer before going and not just glanced at the overall rating. How they managed make a simple veggie burger and pasta with vegetables near tasteless and inedible is baffling.

Pros: The fries are good.

Cons: Everything but the fries.

Missed the Mark & Misleading

The options they have marked as Vegan are indeed not actually vegan. They are the options that can be made vegan by removing what makes it the entre. One creamy pesto pasta removes the cream and pesto, just adding oil to create a sad pasta. Another example, with their cauliflower wing wrap they remove the cauliflower wings because their breading casement isn’t vegan, leaving warm non fried cauliflower in its stead. Additionally, the blue cheese gets removed with no replacement. Furthermore the hot sauce gets replaced with a spicy vinegar hot sauce… the end product is a sad (non seasoned) cauliflower in vinegar forward hot sauce, thrown in a wrap, with very little Avocado. Bon appétit.
Yep, there’s more. Their Impossible Apple Burger was close to cardboard in flavor. The apples were devoid of taste. The bread (not a bun) was dry and crunchy - causing me to take a swig of liquid each time to finish each bite (hard to swallow)… I could go on, but the point is clear. Their menu is misleading, which we pointed out to our server who said she’d pass it on, and their ‘Vegan options’ when converted to a true vegan option are sad and clearly not prepared by a food and flavor loving vegan.

Lastly, when I had been informed that their cauliflower breading wasn’t vegan… they said ‘they realized’ it wasn’t vegan, which I perceived as a recent realization… in which I deferred a lack of awareness of what IS and IS not truly Vegan… which made me question the reliability of their understanding for non-obvious ingredients such as the potential of white sugar in their potentially Heinz ketchups, which is processed with Bone Ash, and is therefor not Vegan friendly.

I digress.
Double check before eating anything - and in general happy eating.

I love what the owner is attempting to bring to the Deep Creak Locale. It has missed the mark though on Delicious Vegan Options.
The Chef making these options should be just as “Wow’d” & Satisfied by them as any other dish they’re making. I’d be surprised if the chef found their vegan options to be Scrumptious. Change/adjust the recipes and make fully veganized options from the start.

I ate there yesterday they had one actually vegan option on the menu and that was the lemon farro bowl with grilled veggies. It had no lemon on it so asked the server about it she said they were running low on lemons. Cauliflower wings are so easy to make vegan. Also the server said the menu was misprinted NO SHIT SHERLOCK.

Not many vegan options

I had the philly cheese steak asked if they could make it vegan. They did but it came out on some over toasted white bread. I mean it’s like it’s not that difficult to make naan which they serve it on vegan. If they make it in house which they probably don’t. 😭

Pros: Great fries

Cons: Over priced for what I got, No vegan mayo

Surprisingly good!

We had a good vegan meal! Nice atmosphere—kind of coffee house/bar vibe. The place has a stage for but was no live music the night we were there. We were there on a cold Wednesday evening and most were at the bar eating/drinking. We started out with the Buffalo Cauliflower wings without the cheese. It’s listed as vegetarian (not vegan) because of the cheese according to our server. They were outstanding. I have a feeling it may have been made with butter however. I’ll check the next time we’re there. My wife had the taco salad with impossible burger in it. She had it with oil and vinegar dressing and liked it a lot. I had the Philly sandwich with impossible beef—it was great. It’s served on a thick pita-type bread. They also offer an impossible burger.

Overall we were very happy that Deep Creek has an independent restaurant with pretty good vegan options.

Pros: Independent restaurant, Atmosphere, Adequate vegan options

Cons: I’d like more vegan options, but it’s Deep Creek!

Pretty cool in the shadows

The atmosphere of this place is definitely the best part about it. It's a large space with a cozy wooden interior and a space for live music, which I unfortunately didn't get a chance to experience. The vegan menu options weren't bad either, although I think there were only 3 or 4. It's still pretty impressive considering it's almost "impossible" to find vegan menu items in any other restaurant in town. I had the impossible cheesesteak and it was pretty delicious - even tempted my very traditional, omnivore uncle to try a bite. I hope they are the trendsetters in Garrett County!

Pros: Cool atmosphere, Live music, Good prices

Cons: Too many meat options, Not enough vegan options

Not the most vegan friendly

This establishment has a very cool atmosphere, the staff members are all so kind, but I was surprised by the limited number of vegan entrees. I had the Impossible tacos and the crispy brussel sprouts (both delicious), but I had a hard time finding vegan options aside from that. They have a large selection of vegetarian meals (impossible Philly cheesesteak) but again surprisingly not very vegan-friendly. Considering, however, that this is seemingly one of two vegan-friendly restaurants in Deep Creek, it is still a very solid option.

Pros: Creative menu, Fun atmosphere

Cons: Limited vegan options

Best restaurant in deep creek!

I absolutely adore this place. They have good vegetarian appetizers and entrees. Theirs a couple vegan and vegetarian entrees that are the bomb. They make awesome cocktails and the staff are friendly.

Pros: Vegan options, Fresh food, Fast service

Cons: Pricey -if you get a lot of drinks😉

Good Experience!

The outdoor tables were spaced very far apart and the staff were friendly and attentive. We had the artichoke bruschetta and quinoa burgers. Both were delicious! Vegan items are not marked but easy to figure out on the menu and we confirmed with the waiter. Also, the French fries are fried in a dedicated fryer and nicely seasoned.

Pros: Dedicated fryer for French fries, Tasty vegan options

One vegan option

Looking at their menu I thought that maybe they would have more vegan options since at the bottom of their website it said things would be marked V for Vegan and .. for could be made Vegan. The only entree they had was a black bean quinoa burger that didn’t really have much flavor. It really needed some spice! I also got the cauliflower wings which I thought were marked as vegan but then came covered in blue cheese. It’s ok if you are very desperate for something when going out with the family and it could be better but I did enjoy my burger after adding salsa to it!

Pros: Cute atmosphere, Good French fries

Cons: Not really any vegan options, Vegan burger is bland

Definitely going back!

We were treated like friends, not customers. 5 in our party, 3 vegans, 2 meat eaters. Every dish was fantastic (brisket and trout, salads, roasted veggies, soup, as well as dessert). A wonderful dining experience.
