Indonesian influenced cuisine - Edit
I ate here a couple of times in one weekend because the food was that great. The menu changes from the to time, but most dishes are Indonesian based. Worth a visit !

We started with the roulade which is like a big summer roll filled with veggies & noodles, we chose the peanut sauce which was delicious. We had two versions of nasi goreng, mine had some faux chicken which was nice, nothing special. The cute tiny vegan fried eggs were not as good as the ones I had in China but still were a nice addition to the delicious fried rice dish.

I don't know whether the concept changed compared to the description here but yesterday was all Indonesian off the "winter menu". Chick'n Satay, Nachos, burger, Nasi Goreng - all was very nice, satisfying yet subtle flavors, good sized portions, and the two cocktails members of our group had were tasty as well. Definitely a place to recommend!

We came here because of all the good reviews on Happy Cow. Monkey Mood did not disappoint. The food was flavorful and colorful. The portions were nice and the service was great. A delicious and nice lunch.

Mon restaurant vegan préféré à Bordeaux, tout est délicieux. Ils font vraiment attention aux détails, comme par exemple le mini oeuf (vegan bien sûr) sur le nasi goreng.

If we step back on a non-vegan plate : meat/fish is around 20g of protein per 100 g. The main goal is to retrieve AT LEAST the same amount. And, beside the very tasty Heüra chunks and the tempeh in one burger, no protein are found in the menu. Jackfruit is 1g per 100g…
I’m really sad that, in 2022, the very pure vegan cliché of « lack of protein » is carried by a wonderful restaurant with a tasty cuisine.
Please add some tofu or tempeh in every plate, it cost almost nothing 🥹🥲

The food was good including an interesting coconut rendition of a creme brulee that was a light green color but tasted delicious. They were short-staffed when I came on a Sunday night and started operating with a limited menu although they were very clear up front and were able to accommodate me.

On Sundays, you can partake in Monkey Mood's brunch service: a fixed price set menu with 2 drinks, 2 savory courses, and 2 sweet ones. The southeast Asian flavors and textures are outstanding. It's also just off the plaza of Saint Michael's Basilica. Staff were attentive and spoke English. Reservations recommended: I watched several parties get turned away while we were dining outside.

I loved it because I felt so good after the meal. Nothing heavy and fried. But it was a much needed meal when travelling and the owner is very friendly. I got the Jackfruit burger and it was yum. If you love junk food though maybe you'll think it's a little bland. But if you love the taste of fresh vegetables and simple food it's very very good and filling.
