Great choices, cozy place - Edit
We were happy with our dumplings! They all tasted really great (we took 3 different fillings). We especially loved the brocoli/shitake/tofu one. The place is cute and the service is fast. Would go back!

Disappointingly average - Edit
It really was a shame that Momos' dumplings turned out little better than what one could find in the frozen section of an Asian supermarket. For a restaurant whose raison d'etre is dumplings, I was expecting more.
Read moreThe good points:
- The food was well presented. See photo.
- Clean toilets.
- The fried dumplings had a nice crispy golden-brown exterior, reminiscent of pan-fried jiaozi.
- The Mushroom-Potato filling was flavourful and had a distinctive truffle taste. However, as the filling was so well minced I couldn't verify how much of the flavour was actually wild mushroom rather than truffle oil.
- Chic's "Good Times" and other disco classics of yore was playing in the background.
- The place was clean, aesthetically and hygenically.
The bad points:
- Why bother offering steamed dumplings, let alone recommend them, if the fried version is vastly superior? I was told that I would be able to 'taste the filling better' but that was not the case at all. If you are going to have steamed dumplings on the menu then the dough should have some character; either chewy and robust or thin and delicate. These were just limp and tore easily in a rather sad way.
- The Broccoli-Shitake-Tofu filling was mushy, plain, and ultimately forgettable.
- The dumplings weren't very big, and despite having 14 of them I left the restaurant 60% full. Paying €8.50 + €1 (for half steamed/half fried) I was expecting at least 80%.
Verdict:
Come here if you are desperately craving dumplings or are just really really curious. To maximise value for money, go for the daily specials which are €1-2 cheaper than the regular set menu and order the dumplings fried.
Pros: Clean and modern interior, Fried dumplings have a tasty crust
Cons: Steamed dumplings are pointless, Not very filling, Fillings are a hit and miss

Great for you, great for the world - Edit
Nice atmosphere, friendly staff. All organic vegetarian ingredients. Even the beer is organic Vegan options for almost everything. Options for tea, coffee, juice, soft drinks, beer or wine. Literally something for everyone for a decent price. Great for snacking or lunch.
Read moreOnly drawback is that the dough is a bit thick for these type of dumplings. Thus a bit westernised variety.

Not authentic - Edit
I used to live in Kathmandu and i love momo so much that I was eating it everyday! Momo at this place is not at all what I used to eat in Nepal. The skin of momo is too thick and the ingredients lucking flavors. Sauce is also not authentic.

They almost exclusively serve dumplings. Can be good and bad depending on what you’re looking for. Drinks too expensive. Small crowded place.

Wonderful! - Edit
I had a wonderful experience here. The staff were super friendly, the food was delicious and filling. I had the medium portion with two of the vegan dumplings. At their best steamed in my opinion. Might be slightly better value if you're with one other person or more but I think I got my money's worth! Wish there were more places like this in the UK.

I had dinner at Momos yesterday and not only the food is good (and everything is organic, and they use green energy), but it's also fun to eat with several types of dumplings and dips. It's al cheap.

O M G Amazing! - Edit
I was looking on Happy Cow for somewhere for dinner and wanted something typical German but saw Momo dumplings and jumped up and walk out the door. Its all self service, they have a English and German menu and is obivious what is vegan. I had the Broccoli-Shitake-Tofu steamed dumplings and the Mushroom-Potato steamed dumplings, both with Mitho dipping sauce. Oh my god, I died and went to heaven, so delicious I could eat these everyday. I want more so I ordered dessert, Sweet Momos which is 10 fried dumplings filled with banana, YUMMMMM! This place is a must try for everyone.

Great Dumplings - Edit
I loved the vegan dumplings at momos. They weren’t the Asian style I was hoping for but still very tasty! I got there when they opened and service was pretty fast and they soon filled up with lots of customers. I recommend heading there if you’re in Berlin!

Delicious dumplings! - Edit
I was very keen on trying this place after reading positive reviews and I was not disappointed. Friendly staff explained how it all works (self-service - you order and collect your food at the till). My husband and I shared 18 dumplings - he had spinach-cheese and I ordered pumpkin-chickpea and broccoli-shiitake-tofu with two dipping sauces. The dumplings were very tasty and just enough for us but they do have bigger sharing platters if required!

A rainy Friday evening - Edit
A rainy Friday evening in Berlin we found our way to the vegetarian dumpling place Momos. We were welcomed by a trendy restaurant with friendly staff behind the counter, ready to take our orders. They had a very simple concept, both regarding their interior and their food. There are six different dumplings you can choose from, of which four are vegan. The dishes are served with a dip free of choice. We ordered mixed plates to try all four, together with dips with a taste of lemon-mint and soy-sesame. With that, we enjoyed a delicious seaside salad with red seaweed and sliced cucumber. ⠀

The dumplings were so tasty, not to mention the dips! But there was a small problem: the dough of the dumplings easily took over the filling, which made it hard to defer which dumpling you were eating. Our suggestion would be to make them bigger because the dough had a very nice consistency – we would just like to know what the filling is like. Another tip for you, potential guests, is to order at least twelve dumplings to get full. If you are really hungry, order more – and don’t forget the sides!⠀
⠀
After enjoying our meal, we had a bit of a sweet tooth – and it was Friday! Momos even had a dumpling dessert with banana filling, served with cinnamon and maple syrup. Here the dough did not take over, it was thin and crispy, and the bananas sweet and moisty. They also had a delicious brownie with nuts. (For a picture of the desserts, visit our Facebook page, link in profile!) Momos is a great place to warm you from the rain! Unfortunately, we had to go out again…
Pros: Delicious dips, Like the modern interior, Yummy dumpling-dessert
Cons: A bit too much dough

Not as expected - Edit
I agree with one or two of the other reviews, that it is maybe getting complacent on prior good reviews I thought the dumplings were just ok and nothing special compared to ones can get in authentic Asian restaurants.
Read moreI dont know why they charge for extra dips. They should just give a few dips included, as a part of the price, which isn't necessarily cheap either. I was expecting something amazing, but was kind of disappointed.

Literally some of the best vegan food I ever had - Edit
We had mixed momos: broccoli-shiitake-tofu, potato-cabbage-carrot & pumpkin-chickpeas, with a tomato-based dip and a soy sauce based dip. We enjoyed every single bite, this was literally some of the best vegan food I ever had. Too bad we live an 8-hour drive from this place, but we'll definitely return!
