More, more Momo please - Edit
This is my favorite place for a fantastic plant based brunch or lunch. The high ceiling room feels spacious, even though it tends to get busy for lunch and weekends (and deservedly so). The food is fantastic, so much variety. The standard menu has plenty to choose from, though I tend to go for the blackboard special, of which they usually have two offerings. I’ve never been disappointed as they are very creative. I have had some options from the menu too, and you really can’t go wrong, Plus, they have a whole range of delicious handmade sweet treats available also. And the coffee is terrific.. I can’t recommend this place highly enough

Uprising sourdough French toast....
I mean holy f**** **** ***** wow
Vegan banana bread and butter was savoury enough to be comforting and sweet enough to be a pleasure.
Coconut rice porridge was awesome and really well presented
My black cold brew coffee was exceptional.
I'm always impressed with unison coffee, a local roaster.
Can't wait till next time.
...this wasn't the next time but October 2 2024.
That French Toast again, but with lemon curd and oh so fantastic.
Linda the owner and the team especially Steph run an immaculate operation

Delicious vegan wholefood - Edit
Momo is airy and light, with high ceilings and a wall of trailing green house plants, giving a natural eclectic vibe. The food is vibrant, fresh and delicious, wholefoods-based and often organic. One of my very favourite cafes, perfect for a chilled Saturday brunch.

Loved this place. Beautiful big open space, great service and an almost entirely vegan menu (can swap out for dairy milk). Had Beetroot juice, lemon tempeh skewers with quinoa salad and buckwheat toast. All delicious and coffee was good too.

Beautiful atmosphere - Edit
I’ve been here a few times now and love the space! It’s such a lovely and unusual seating area. The food is good, a large variety but is a bit more on the pricey side especially if you add on extras. We got the tofu scramble one with mushrooms and avocado, and the other with avocado and sautéed veg. Also got the crumpets and the granola - all vegan! Also got an oat latte and a vegan affogato

Friendly staff, little disappointed with the food - Edit
It’s a beautiful space, been here a couple of times before. Staff is always super friendly. Came for breaky with my 2.5y/o. Got the tofu scramble with house pickles and added avo on so that my son could have piece of the toast with the avo, which is his fave breakfast. The tofu scramble was yummy, the bread was great (sourdough), I didn’t care much for the pickles, tasted as if veggies were used that were a bit off, especially the cauliflower. Most disappointing was that the avo was all manky and stringy with brown spots. I will never understand that anyone would serve an avo like that, knowing that the add on is $4.50 🤦♀️ My son is an absolute avo-lover. He would devour multiple avos if I let him. He didn’t even want to touch it. I don’t mind spending more for good food, but this sort of experience makes me walk away pretty annoyed. Had to get him a raw ball so that he would at least eat something. Must have been yummy or he must have been hungry, as he smashed that. Mentioned the avo to the waitress and there was nothing offered to compensate for the $4.5 thrown away. Got a coconut cap which was nice. It’s such a pity in my eyes, walking out with that disappointment, as the menu looks amazing, the staff were all so nice and the room is beautiful.

Hey - really sorry to hear that you were so unhappy with your visit this morning. I checked in with the staff member you spoke to and she honestly didn't realise you were so unhappy about the avo - she thought you were just passing on feedback as you were leaving that it wasn't the nicest piece of avo you've had.
Read moreIf we had known at the time when you received it, we would have happily got you a new piece of avo. Avos can be very inconsistent and at times they definitely have imperfections - so if we made a mistake by serving you that one, we would have been more than happy to replace it for you.
Just to reassure you, the pickles we make are all pickled from fresh local veg when we get it delivered by our local growers.
Im glad that you enjoyed everything else - we'd be happy to credit you the $4.50 for the avo on your next visit.
Indu
Thanks for your reply. Like mentioned in the original comment I wasn’t super unhappy at all with the experience or anything. It was mostly a good experience, loved the staff, atmosphere, bread and scramble, but just annoyed about the avo, as that meant my son didn’t have breaky, which was mainly the point of coming. The entire avo (albeit cut up into pieces) was still on the plate when I brought it back to the counter, none of it was eaten, which is why I would have expected the waitress to notice and potentially ask if everything was alright. When that didn’t happen I mentioned it myself. I know I could have sent it back when I realised, but that’s always such an awkward thing to do and makes me feel like an annoying customer. Tbh in my opinion an avo like that should never leave the kitchen, so that’s where the mistake was made. I may be a bit harsh in my judgement because I am a chef myself and have worked in hospo my whole life, and would never send out a brown stringy avo. But anyway, please don’t take away from this as if we had a bad experience. Would still definitely recommend your cafe and kudos for all the vegan options, that’s hard to come by anywhere. Also love that someone randomly played the piano when we were there, super nice touch

Had heard lots of good things about Momo's. The menu looks amazing with so many choices. I tried the Momo's. Ive had much tastier ones before. They were lacking spices and flavours in the filling. Nice large portion. Very friendly staff and a lovely interior. I will revisit to try a different menu item.

Fantastic - Edit
Whilst in Newcastle I went to Momo for a light lunch as well as a Friday night event of theirs. Almost everything is vegan, gluten-free is clearly marked, and the staff understand coeliac. I had hot chocolate with coconut mylk and shared the Banh Xeo. Incredibly fresh and excellent food, great ambience, plants everywhere, high ceilings. Their portion sides are great for the price. Really can't get much better. Their event was fantastic too, with live music and the Indian Thali meal for the night being all vegan and gluten free. Check the website for their night events. Would be the perfect place if all vegan
