Amazing vegan food! - Edit
There are a lot of vegan options to choose from. We had a proper brunch with avocado on toast, topped with tomatoes and pine nuts, a vegan sausage roll (made of veggies stuffing) and salad, plus vegan raspberry and white chocolate cheesecake. Everything was so tasty, the oat lattes were big and yummy. The staff was super friendly and welcoming, the atmosphere was perfect. We’ll be back every time we’re in town.

Lovely lunch on Moments cafe - Edit
Popped into Moments cafe for lunch today.
Read moreThe staff were so kind and helpful, as we needed a table to accommodate a physical disability.
The food is beautiful.
Bread, scones and bakes etc, all home made.
The menu caters for vegans, including many dessert options (which, in my opinion, is a rare find)
The oat latte and tea are very good too.
Such a lovely lunch 💚🌱
Pros: Lovely thoughtful staff, Great vegan options , Scones are outstanding

Nice find and just what I needed - Edit
There was a good range of vegan options (I had the toastie) and thankfully the prices weren't ridiculous.
Read moreAlso the staff were great and I got my food & drink in really good time.
But most of all the venue is just stunning - on a hot sunny day - sitting down in the historical cellar was magical - definitely would love to come again if I ever come this way.
Pros: Venue , Atmosphere , Staff
Cons: More vegan options would be appreciated

A moment's relaxation - Edit
Very welcoming cafe with good vegan options. We just popped in for some refreshments and a rest, after arriving in Barnard Castle earlier in the day. The berry smoothie and iced coffee worked a trick and were very refreshing. The downstairs basement where we sat was cool too, with books to entertain our young son. Will definitely be returning again to sample the food.

Best Vegan Chocolate Cake EVER!!! - Edit
Disappointed I couldn’t give this a 5* as the food and service was exceptional. (Holy Cow reserve that for fully vegan eateries) the chocolate and orange cake was the best I’ve tasted, soooooo light with great flavour 😋

To let the horses run free - Edit
Originally listed as a vegetarian cafe in Durham Market Place but it’s actually in the horse hoeing husbandry town of Barnard Castle and not 100% veggie but still worth a visit for vegan friendly options. I’ve had the home made pizza slices and vegan cheese scones brought back home, both of which are quite decent, the cheese scones more so. They always usually have two daily vegan soups and the ubiquitous avocado mash on toast.
