This place is unreal - Edit
This place is soooo good! The vegan super seed bagel is delicious, everything is gluten free. The BEC with just egg vegan cheddar and homemade vegan bacon is a dream come true, turmeric ginger late also amazing, will be back!

Cute place with some vegan options and 100% gluten-free - Edit
I preordered a vegan cake (they only had vegan chocolate) and it was already boxed when I arrived. They were unable to find a bag to fit the cake. The cake itself was delicious however the frosting was chocolate instead of vanilla (which was what I ordered). I had intended to try a vegan focaccia but they were sold out so if I’m able to try in the future I will update this review.

Average vegan option - Edit
This place looked promising, however, they were out of the only vegan bagel so offered me the seeded bread instead. I got the vegan lox and it was pretty tasteless. The staff weren’t overly friendly either. I also noticed they seemed to be using the same knife for all bagels so the possibility of cross contamination of animal products. Ate half of my sandwich and sadly through out the rest. I would recommend skipping this spot and going to a fully vegan bagel place instead.

The creamed tofu is sooo delish. The bagel is seedy heaven too. We also shared a cupcake that had the best frosting!

A gluten-free bagel joint - Edit
When we first walked up there was a huge line, which usually indicates good stuff so we were patient. I think we got there just at the very peak hour at about noon on a weekday.
Read moreThere is nice outdoor seating but a lot of people in line so we had to wait to get a seat.
There is one Vegan Bagel, a seeded one which was very good, I got it with a vegan cream cheese, tomato onion and arugula.,
Chandler got the seated bagel with the vegan eggs and it was also delicious. There are multiple pastries that are vegan and we got the apple coffee cake, it was very very good. They have nondairy milk and their coffee is good.

There’s a new location in Woodland Hills. I’ve yet to try it, sounds delicious.

Great bagel! - Edit
Great bagel, we got a simple cream cheese one. They accidentally gave us a salmon bagel and when we went back to return it, they gave us a free vegan chocolate zucchini bread. That wasn’t that great though. Friendly service, smiling and cheerful!

Great vegan options - Edit
Great vegan options available, but i was slightly disappointed to hear that all their bagels have egg wash on them. When ordering a vegan item make sure to mention that and you’ll be given a vegan type of bread instead (but no their bagels are NOT vegan).

Gluten-free breads - Edit
This place specializes in gluten-free bread. It is associated with a "sister" restaurant--found at the same location--named Arba, which is a Mediterranean eatery. There a few vegan selections, though frankly not many--even the bagels use egg whites (perhaps to offset the lack of gluten?). In any case, this place is more geared toward pescatarians who want gluten-free foods than for the HappyCow audience.
Read moreThis place also seems associated with Thyme & Tonic, which is right next door, which seems to have more vegan selections.
Pros: Very good for those avoiding gluten
Cons: Less good for vegans

This place is heaven for vegetarians & beyond for those who are gluten free - Edit
My first experience at Modern got me hooked and I can’t stay away. The food is outrageously delicious and fun. I’ve used them to cater my office events to rave reviews. The bread just happens to be gluten free- it’s delicious. The vibe is cool and yet warmth is everywhere. The staff is friendly and accommodating. You’ll go and then go again and again....
