"Vegan" soup contained chicken - Edit
Mitchell's used to have reasonable vegan / veggie options, but menu has changed and our most recent visit last week means we won't go back there again, with the "vegan" soup containing 2 chunks of chicken at the bottom. They explained it was (at least) a vegan stock, and they must have served from the wrong pan. If I'd have been a meat eater I'd have been equally disappointed with their "cock-a-leekie" soup, given it contained only 2 pieces of meat.

Bad service, bad food, limited options - Edit
I've been here three times over the past few years, and each time I was hugely disappointed - I only went back in the hopes that they'd improved!
Read moreTo start with there aren't many veggie/vegan options. The majority of the veg options are just afterthoughts of meat-dishes that say (vg option availble) next to it: no details of what the option actually is!
The floor staff don't seem keen to pay attention to any of their tables, and it's a real chore trying to do something as simple as getting the bill.
And then the food: one time my dessert was burnt. When a waiter came to ask if everything was ok, upon being told no, this is burnt, he just shrugged and walked away. Another time I ordered a veg breakfast. They forgot to put 3 of the items on the plate, and when someone eventually dealt with it, the missing items were brought out cold. Finally, I once ordered eggs here, which were served with the whites runny and uncooked. Disgusting.

Few options to choose from, I originally wanted the tofu dish but they had run out so I had the vegan version of fish and chips which was battered banana blossom. Little expensive

The new menu has very few options - Edit
I used to love eating here as they had so many great vegan choices but a new menu they’ve just announced only has olives and then the possibility to adapt a risotto. So disappointing that they’re moving in the wrong direction.

Excellent vegan and veggie options - Edit
Lovely friendly service in a relaxed and attractive environment with a separate vegan and veggie menu with plenty of choice! We (3 of us) ate here twice for an evening meal and enjoyed all of the options. We had a red curry, a vegan burger and a tagine and loved them all! When we asked how hot the curry was they brought us some of the sauce to try!
