The McDonald’s of Mexican - Edit
This was absolutely disgusting. The worst meal I think I have ever eaten in history of meals. Asked for my tacos in a bowl, which is extremely common for any Mexican joint. I was served plain mushrooms, plain avocados, plain tomatoes, and canned jalapeños. There wasn’t a hint of seasoning. Not at all what the waiter described (was told it would be served on a bed of lettuce).

Good Vegan Tacos - Edit
I was craving a taco so I decided to look up Mission Taco Joint which is a place my omnivore friend had said she really liked. I didn’t know if they had any vegan options but was pleasantly surprised to see that they do! I ordered delivery from DoorDash but would love to check out the restaurant in person as well. I really enjoyed the vegan soft tacos, they had a lot of good flavor and I liked trying something new with the hungry planet meat since most other places use impossible or beyond meat. The salsas were also good but next time I will get mild instead of hot, they were way too hot for me. Overall I really enjoyed this and will definitely “dine-in” sometime soon.

Wonderful Tacos with Hungry Planet Plant-Based Meat - Edit
LOVE this place. I moved to the northeast, but next time I visit STL I want to return. Now they serve Hungry Planet plant-based meat instead of Impossible Foods. Hungry Planet is also a local company, and their meats are delicious!

our server was a vegan!!! - Edit
Being out-of-towners, we found this place on Happy Cow. Fun place - colorful with big pictures of Mexican wrestlers. Our server was a vegan so she was able to guide us to the good stuff on the menu. Had the chofu taco and a custom torta. Taco good, torta great. The soy chorizo has quite the kick - nice and spicy. The salsas and guacamole were really good.

Vegan Tacos! - Edit
Mission Taco was a really fun place to go with some workmates one Thursday afternoon. I ordered one of each kind of vegan taco they offered. They were so good, I ordered a second round.

Hip Restaurant, Decent Veg Options - Edit
Mission Taco offers some decent vegan options, and is super popular, so it's a great place to go with meat and non meat eaters alike. I always get the New Years Resolution burrito, which has locally sourced MoFu tofu, vegetable quinoa, and black beans, topped with tomato ancho sauce (no melted cheese) and pepita pesto (vegan). It's super good and filling. They also have tacos which you can get with tofu, mushrooms, or cactus.
Read moreThey have a good drink selection- margaritas plus some other latin inspired cocktails, and decent beer list. Chips and salsa are not complimentary.
The main downside to Mission is there is always a wait. Usually at least an hour, even during the week, and they do not take reservations.
Pros: Good vegan options, Hip atmosphere, Good drinks
Cons: Very busy, long wait times

Vegan menu options - Edit
One of my favorite restaurants to go with groups of people who aren't veg. On the menu they have a burrito and taco with tofu. Also a mushroom taco. I usually get a side of black beans (vegetarian) or quinoa. Ask for everything w/o cheese if desired vegan, sometimes they sprinkle it on.
Read morePros: veg options, good for groups up to 8
Cons: Pay for chips & salsa
