Always nails it - Edit
For the last couple of years Mildred’s has consistently nailed its food. I go often for breakfast/brunch as my partner and I love the banana butterscotch pancakes (the maple cream is to die for), but the rest of their menu is great too.

Distracted me from Lost for 45 whole minutes! - Edit
Guys I’m in so deep. Have you ever seen Lost? That show is just compelling mystery building upon compelling mystery! I worry I’m in too deep at this point: every moment of my life just feels like a pre-island flashback. I keep waiting to be woken up and held in Mr Echo’s strong, handsome arms. And, before you say it, I know people say that the ending is disappointing, but I’m much more of a believer in the journey rather than the destination. Besides, I know the ending and honestly all of the religious imagery makes it feel super justified, at least as far as I’m concerned…

Yummy breakfast - Edit
We enjoyed a toastie and pancakes. The coffee was also very good. You can use the space during the day as a working space which is a great idea and good value.

Much of the food is just too salty - Edit
I love Mildred's and appreciate that they are now fully vegan but I find many of their dishes, particularly the burgers and breakfast sandwiches to just be inedible as they are just horribly salty. I am not a salt free vegan by any means and like salty umami flavours but this is too much. On the plus side their fake chicken used in various dishes is superb.
Read morePros: Now fully vegan, Menu changes regularly, Fake chicken is the best I have tried.

A firm favourite! - Edit
We’ve been regulars at Mildreds for many years - back to the days of their being just one incredibly busy veggie restaurant in Soho. I can’t believe it’s taken me so long to add a review for our local branch In Dalston - a firm favourite and regular haunt, now!
Read moreCurrent favourites are the gunpowder bonda and ranch “chicken” burger, but I’ve had so many wonderful dishes here. The people are so friendly and welcoming, and the venue has a great buzz.
Non-vegan and non-veggie friends love it as much as we do! We were thrilled when they quietly went vegan not so long ago.
Amazing brunch too, with the most fantastic pancakes!
Definitely worth visiting one of the Mildreds branches across London - if you’re in East London, I recommend a visit to this one!

Nice food but a little lacking in places… - Edit
We arrived at 11.30am hoping for brunch only to find that that menu stops at 11am leaving only lunch options to choose from. It was a bit of a struggle as we weren’t yet in the mood for lunch! We both chose from the specials menu only to be told that it wasn’t ready yet….so had to chose something else. Not great. Having said that the food that we did have was very nice but I would avoid visiting again between 11am and 12pm.

Decent food - Edit
I think that the food here is a little hit-and-miss. It’s good, but not quite as good as it should be. Not too badly priced, except some of the sides - you get one tiny pitta with a large saucer of hummus, but extra bread costs a few pounds. Some of the more Asian fare is a little under spiced, for my liking. I once ordered something labelled as vegan which came with dairy yoghurt or cheese on it and, despite them insisting it was vegan, they went back to the kitchen and then confirmed that it was labelled wrongly on the menu.
Read moreI will (and do) return here, so the food is hitting the spot, but I do not subscribe to all the 5 star reviews. On the plus side, their menu has gotten better over the years.

Top notch meal - Edit
For our first meal out in a restaurant after lockdown we decided to make a trip to London. Mildreds ,the original Soho one, helped me on my original vegan journey. We were keen to see what expansion of the group had done. Very impressed by the Dalston Mildreds. Managed to park for free about 50 yards away, which is always a bonus. Covid 19 precautions in the restaurant were good. Food was fantastically flavoursome. The Arancini were the best I can remember having. The donburi tofu was excellent as was the chickin burger and desserts were just right not too much sweetness. Friendly staff.

Amazing brunch!! - Edit
Not only is Mildred’s incredible for dinner and lunch but their breakfast/ brunch menu is also fantastic! Even though We went shortly after lockdown meaning their menu was limited, there was still so much to choose from. The highlights included a ‘mezze brunch’ with vegan feta and the banana bread which were incredible

I do love a Mildred's - Edit
This is my local. I've always got love for Mildred's food and I like the fact they switch up the menu once in a while. A new menu almost every 5 months. I find 8/10 times the food is bang on, tasty, yummy and you want more. But it's not consistent. There has bee the odd occasion where the fries were overdone or they slapped the pieces of the burger together that it doesn't look like a burger, or saturated some things with sauces. Sometimes that can be annoying as is not cheap here either. But I would still come back.

Always amazing - Edit
I have been to Mildreds many times in London and it never fails to impress me and my companion! The menu has its invariable corner stones yet interesting tweaks come regularly and the drinks menu is diverse. Strong recommendation for vegans and non-vegans alike – will convince the latter with a great certainty.
