Bakery and shop, opened a small cafe in early 2017. Has various vegan items including a variety of savory pies, baked goods and mini pizzas. Open Mon-Sat 9:30am-8:00pm, Sun 11:00am-5:00pm.
The middle eastern grocery is small, but very well-stocked, with an excellent selection of specialty items. They have an astounding array of herbs and spices, and fresh hummus in the refrigerated section. They also have a number of different varieties of vegan (clearly marked as such) hand pies, which are very cheap, tasty, and portable--perfect for meals on the go. My favorites are the potato and the lentil.
I come here mostly for the affordable selection of grains, legumes, and herbs - but the falafel wrap and hummus are worth a stop at the deli side as well!
Ordered two falafel wraps, and towards the end of mine, I noticed a chewy substance all too familiar. Shreds and pieces of meat in the so-called vegan falafel wrap.
I went back immediately, proof in hand, to let them know. They were completely nonchalant about it, and said: “It happens sometimes. Meat and falafel are so close by one another. No guarantee🤷🏽♂️”
I then strongly advocated that this is a problem, and he insisted, three times, that they just make a new one. After I insisted on getting my money back, he sighed loudly, basically a hiss, and went angrily back to the register to get the money. He then looked at me with the same annoyed face and said: “One. You only get your money back for one!”
He then handed me the money and gave a half assed: “Okay, sorry, bye.”
One thing is when these things happen by accident, and the staff/owners take full responsibility. But here there was absolutely no sign of empathy, and apparently no sign whatsoever of them thinking that having the plant based options and meat options so close to one another, that vegans end up getting meat in their order routinely, is a problem.
Laughable lack of understanding and service, and this is the last time I ever set foot in that place.
Lastly, there were around 13-16 moths flying around the bread section, when I entered the deli, along with a good number of flies. It seems as though their attitude towards hygiene is a problem overall. Disgusting.
My family's favorite lentil soup in the whole city. The hummus and falafel are so tasty. Their lentil and potato pies in the bakery section are great, too, as well as their Baklava. The service is always speedy.
It’s nice to stop in here every once in a while and pick up some spinach and onion pies, some lentil pies, some squash pies, or some falafel. They also have pita pizzas that are vegetarian. Plus in the fridge, there are multiple types of hummus and there is baba ghanouj. Plus they have vegan baklava! Good eating for days on maybe $20.
Middle eastern market with grab and go prepared food, lots of which is vegan and a cafe with made to order food.. The market is on the Foster side of the building and the cafe is on the Clark Street corner. The market has a bunch of savory vegan pies that are delicious and lots of salads, baba ganoush, hummus, and such in the cold case, plus fresh breads in the market area. Great place to stop by on the way home to pick up mezze or on your way to a picnic.

Delicious falafel and friendly people - Edit
The falafel wrap was very tasty, as was the rice. Portions seemed fair to generous for the price. Staff was very friendly and service was quick!
