Vegan options, locally owned & BYOB

Love this place! First of all it's not a chain, it is BYOB and they have some vegan options. My husband and I get the potabello fingers & the get-saucy sauce which is house-made and fabulously tangy. We split the tofu sandwich and the un-burger. They also have vegan cheesecake on occasion, albeit rare. This isn't the healthiest place but it's great when you wanna go eat some great tasting food! It's budget friendly as it's BYOB. It's open super-late (like 4a.m. Or so). Also has delivery to immediate area.

Pros: BYOB , Vegan friendly , Budget friendly

Cons: Greasy, noisy/crowded when folks leave local bar, Not the healthiest place- but delicious!

Diamond in the Rough

My partner and I recently found ourselves in Jonson City for the better part of a week and were pleasantly surprised to find this local haunt. Walking in, you feel like you're entering an abandoned Chinese restaurant, but that's half the charm. The music: a mix of Johnny Cash and Surf Rock. The decor: Sparse and thrown together. The staff: genuine, accommodating, and knowledgeable about the menu/substitutions. We both ordered the Mid City Unburger. What we got was a very unconventional spinach and black bean patty on a bed of greens, pita bread and avocado on the side, and Pico de gallo dumped on top. Seriously delicious! It comes with soy Swiss cheese (not vegan) which we substituted for hummus. *They also offered vegan Mozzarella and Pepper Jack. Another time I tried the Grilled Tofu Sandwich. It was messy and a bit small for my appetitie, but tasty for sure. For sides, we sampled the House Salad and the Homemade Chips. The Salad was a big pile of mesclun mixed greens with cucumber, tomato and red onion. Very fresh. The chips were very good just by themselves. All in all, I thoroughly enjoyed the food here, but what I appreciated most was the owner actually coming over to say hello and chat with us. Try it out!

Pros: Pleasant staff, Hearty and delicious vegen burger patty, Super fresh salad greens

Cons: Not enough options, No vegan dessert
