Best ever curry fish head

Take away some of Miao Yi signature dishes as they're fully booked for dine in till 31-12-2021 (their last day of operation), 10% discount for all take away order.

1. Mock suckling pig
This is their utmost signature dish, a must order, needless to introduce any further, it won abillion Singapore Top 50 Vegan Dish Awards 2020 and 2021.

2. Shark fin soup with crab slices
Their shark fin soup has been voted as the best shark fin soup in Singapore by vss members 2021, best serve with some black vinegar, tastes like the real shark fin soup.

3. Chilli prawn with man tou
Their chilli prawn tastes like the real chilli crab, while waiting for my order, there were two ladies eating one whole big plate of Chilli prawn with man tou solely and nothing else, think they're the regular there.

4. Mock curry fish head
This is my favorite, best ever mock curry fish head, it tastes greater than the real curry fish head, especially the mock fish head, most recommended.

5. Truffle Ee Fu noodles
All of us like it very much, super fragrant, will certainly miss all of their food here.

Really good mock meat

My friend and I were not planning on eating here originally, however as the place we were initially planning on eating at was closed, we came here instead. My non-vegetarian friend (and I) really liked the food, saying it tasted just like actual meat (and even said she was considering bringing her family here), so it is a good place for those who are looking for good meat replicates.

Hot plate veg. benison ($13): Texture of mock meat and flavour really good. Vegetables include snowpeas, carrots, mushrooms.

Veg sweet and sour pork ($13): Usually not the greatest fan of sweet and sour dishes, but this had the right balance. Texture of mock meat was really good. There were also vegetables present (capsicum, lettuce, mushroom), giving it a good balance between the 'meat' and veggies.

Assorted olive fried rice ($10): Really tasty, good to eat with the mock meat dishes. A bit on the pricier side, especially for rice.

None of the dishes have egg, a few have dairy (like the curry fish I believe), however you need to ask the staff which dishes have dairy as it is not labelled on the menu.

A lot of extra charges to be aware of, such as the wet napkin on the table ($0.80) or the starter salad (2 dollar something). GST and service charge are not included in the price on the menu, which is something to bear in mind. Total cost was $46 for the two of us, however we did end up bringing some of it home as we were so full and there were leftovers.

Pros: Really good + accurate mock meat, Wide range of options, Tasty, flavourful, plenty of veggies in the dishes

Cons: Pricey, hidden charges, No labelling of which dishes contain dairy

Many vege choices and vegan options in Chinese restaurant

Earlier CNY lunch treat by my 小富婆sister. We had tea, salad prawn, roast pig, lohei, kai lan veges, nutritious herbal soup, mock fish, sweet sour spare rib and gong bao monkey head mushroom for 215sgd. Place is crowded hence do make reservation in advance!!!

I love the soup, vege and salad prawn... while my sister all time must order is the roast pig 😋

Pros: Lots of vegan and vege options, Spacious, Chinese restaurant style

OK but lot better places nearby

I didn’t really like this place, it seemed to me more like a “food factory” or a massive canteen trying to serve hundreds of people at the same time. Staff is rude, no patience to answer any questions you may have. Food is fairly expensive in Singaporean terms, plus there are many hidden charges you’d only notice when you get the bill (like wet tissue they put in front of you when you sit down). The food was tasty, altough it had a very “jelly” texture (claypot tofu, veg). The only time I would go here again if I was looking for a vegetarian vegan restaurant in the area that can sit down hundreds of my guests😄otherwise I don’t recommend this place.

Pros: Huge selection, Can accommodate 100s of people / large tables

Cons: Rude staff, Hidden charges, Bit pricey

Food fine but staff were strange

Had a late dinner here. The restaurant is nicely decorated and the food was good. Quite large portions and good value. The staff were friendly but a little strange though.

Pros: Spicy

Interesting find

On third floor of a shopping centre in Chinatown. We were very lucky to get a small table for two without reservations. Place was full. Great choice of food. Three small dishes plus rice was enough for two.

Pros: Some vegan choices, Tasty mock ‘meat’ dishes, Cheaper than Central prices

Cons: Need to reserve table if large group

ideal place for family/big gathering

Booked a table at this restaurant to celebrate my mum's bday! Place is very big and can accommodate many big tables. Wide variety of dishes, but too much mock meat dishes in the menu. Would be good if they can have more veggies, Beancurd and monkeyhead mushroom dishes to cater to non-mock meat fans.

Pros: big place, may be quite noisy due to big gathering, convenient, near to Chinatown MRT station

Cons: serving time may be slow during peak hours, too much mock meat dishes served

Great Vegetarian Food Caterer

I’ve attended a baby’s 100th day + Christmas lunch months ago and I couldn’t resist taking photos of the spread catered by Miao Yi Vegetarian.

The food was really good. It was prepared fresh in the morning and delivered whilst it’s still piping hot. I really enjoyed the olive fried rice and broccoli with mushrooms especially. The only problem I had was with the amount of mocked meat inside the fried rice.

Nice Restaurant for Gathering

This is a nice traditional Chinese vegetarian restaurant which is ideal for gathering. The interior of this restaurant has a traditional Chinese flavour and the menu has a good variety of Chinese cuisine. One of my favourite dish is the Chilli Prawn with buns. The taste is amazing! It would be good if there are less mock meats dishes where they can find ways to replace with natural plant-based options.

Pros: Convenient Location, Reasonable Price

Cons: Mock Meat

we had a selection of dishes between us including a fantastic tofu hotpot, sweet & sour ribs, prawns and sauted broccoli. all the dishes were tasty, a little over seasoned but balanced overall. my fav was the sauted broccoli we which had some carrot and mushroom thrown in.
decent value in a nice restaurant with some great teas.

Sets a standard for the genre

Prepares nice junk food for vegans, at least those who don't mind their meals almost entirely patterned after after a carnivorous model. Service is excellent. Dependable jiaozi. 5/10 as vegan cuisine, 8/10 as Singaporean Chinese Buddhist vegan cuisine.

Really enjoyed this meal

We took the MRT to the Botanic Garden station to visit the gardens which are amazing. The restaurant is about a ten minute walk from the station and is on the third floor of the Coronation Shopping Plaza. The restaurant is clean, bright and has nice relaxing music in the background. The friendly staff got our food to us in quick order. We ordered 3 dishes which seemed about the right amount of food for the two of us. The food is great and left us well satisfied.

Pros: Good atmosphere, Great food, Not expensive

Delicious food. Great service.

We ate here yesterday evening for the first time and will definitely be regular visitors in future. The food was excellent and the service first class. The waitress advised us on how much food to order which was about right. We had rice, a mushroom and broccoli dish, and a tofu dish and a mango dessert and the bill came to a very reasonable $40.
Had visitors at the beginning of November and took them here twice. Excellent as before. Very busy even on a weekday evening so might be as well to book. Love it.

Discovering old tastes @ 2 Decades Old Restaurant

With the current trend of going Haute Vegetarian Cuisine or Organic Cuisine, yet there are vegetarian restaurants that still serve traditional vegetarian food. Trying to preserving the Traditional Vegetarian Food Culture heritage that would otherwise gradually fade from existence ...

Situated in the luxurious residential estates of Bukit Timah district, this 22 years old vegetarian restaurant at Coronation Plaza maintains an old-world charm and even carnivores are happy to visit them for the old tastes of Traditional Chinese Vegetarian Cuisines at a very reasonable prices (Service Charge: NO, GST:YES).

We were to attend a talk near Coronation Plaza and our initial plan was to have dinner at Miao Yi. Due to its opening time is from 6pm and we figured out we might not have sufficient time to really savour their dishes, therefore we postponed the dinner date.

How can I miss the opportunity of not having something from this restaurant where so many reviewers rave about it. Hence, I went and I dined alone! Shocked to see the restaurant was 60% full within 5-10 minutes after its opening hour at 6pm. By 6.30pm, it was 90% full, look like tables on weekend evenings are almost impossible to get, so reservation is a must!

The noodle dishes priced from $5 but Claypot Hor Fun @ $7 was what I had. Tasted like authentic Zi Char Hor Fun without meat. No mock meat for this dish at all. There were vegetables, mushrooms and Yam instead. The Chrysanthemum tea was priced at @ $1 for a whole pot. Comparing to other vegetarian cuisine in other vegetarian restaurants in Singapore, I would think each of them have their own unique feature and selling point, thus allowing diners with more choices and catering to different tastes.

Dining alone, I could only peek at other tables' dinner happily enjoying the Vegtarian Peking Duck, Ginger Rice and ... So, must go with family or friends, so you can try more of their delectable dishes ...

Pros: Old World Charm, Authentic Traditional Chinese Cuisine
