Comfort food under the trees - Edit
The food here is so so good. We got the empanadas and tacos and potato wedges and lemon pie and everything was worth writing home about. The decor is great too with live trees growing up the middle. And the staff (and staff dog) were incredibly welcoming

I had went to a different downtown restaurant because I read they had vegan empanadas. I was so disappointed upon arrival to find out that they had changed their menu & didn't have them anymore. Mi Vegano Favorito to the rescue. They were within walking distance of where I was so I went to check them out. And I am sooooo glad I did. They have fresh empanadas. The day I was there it was spinach & cheese, and oh my gosh were they delicious. I also tried the Papas Diego (fries with cheese & magic) & the caprese pizza. All the food was phenomenal. To drink they had a locally brewed kombucha that was delish. I loved this place. My only regret is that I didn't find it sooner to be able to enjoy it more frequently during my visit.

I ordered a vegan pizza and a pineapple water and enjoyed both. The pizza comes with two savory sauces, and I highly recommend putting both on your piz,a. Their chimichurri sauce is the best I have had. The owner is Argentinian and a great guy to chat with.

A great spot to eat in San Jose del Cabo - Edit
The restaurant is near the historic town center of San Jose. The ambiance is rustic with a small seating area open to the outside environment. The kitchen is scratch and this the menu (in both Spanish and English) is limited but with tasty options.
Read moreI had the empanadas with a red spicy, smoky sauce that was excellent. My family tried the pizza and the dragon bowl both were amazing.
Lastly desert was a chocolate pie that was decadent with a unique gluten free seed-based crust.
We will return on our next visit for sure!

Mi had not been open since we had gotten to town during Christmas. After having dinner in town we decided to check around 8pm to see if they were open. Sat down and ordered the chocolate pie, it was absolutely fabulous, glad we definitely not to share. Will be back to try more #Veganuary

This was the first restaurant we came to, straight from the airport. The outdoor seating, friendly staff and dog, and amazing food made it an unforgettable experience. We ordered the hibiscus water, empanadas, tacos, and a vermicelli noodle bowl with zucchini/eggplant and avocado with some kind of peanut sauce. It was all delicious. Definitely come here if you are vegan and want reasonably priced, great food!

If you are away from home and miss your pets, come here for love from the sweetest dog ever. If you don’t want a dog around you, just tell the owner, and he will make sure the dog does not come near you. He’s very mild mannered and well behaved.
Ask for the fixed-price menu to save a little, it sounded great, though we ordered from the standard menu.

Read moreThe owners know what they are doing. The place is clean, chill vibe, and they have real mango trees growing in the middle of the restaurant.
Directions: Happy Cow is wrong. They are close to the plaza and art district. They are on Avenida Centenario almost at the corner of Alvaro Obregón.
And, call them if you need directions are Google says they are closed. We went on Tuesday and they were open :)

Wonderful pizza with sweet potato crust (great if you're gluten-free and even if you're not!). The owners are super nice, the vibe is good, and the food delicious. Very close to Plaza Mijares and convenient after strolling through the city. / Maravillosa pizza con batata (¡excelente si no tiene gluten e incluso si lo es!). First .. don’t follow happy cow map, find this amazing place by plugging in the name to google maps. Once you find it, you will love not only the chilled vibe but the food. We had the carrot burger with a fresh salad and the corn empanadas and a brownie with coconut whip. Delicious.

What a gem this place is. I had the potato and spinach burger and the mushroom empanada. Both were full of flavor! I love that it's not too far from the airport (15 min drive) as there aren't any vegan options close to the airport.

Read moreThe spot is almost like a surf shack. It's nestled between a couple of buildings and doesn't really have permanent walls.
Their menu is mainly house-made burgers, pizza, and Argentinian empanadas (open-faced).
Between us we may have tried all of the burgers. All were excellent. And made a good run at the empanadas.. We tried the corn and the caprese. The corn was the more flavorful of the two.
After enjoying the art walk we did come back to have brownies for dessert. They were just out of the oven and out of this world.
Pros: Delicious, healthy leaning options, Cute, unique space

Fui con una amiga mia y ambas salimos contentísimas de ahi, nos sirvieron muy bien y los platos estaban buenísimos (pedimos ensalada mediterránea para pedir - unos falafels de remolacha muy buenos - yo una hamburguesa de zanahoria y mi amiga el dragon bowl). Repetimos seguro!
