Great for lunch or w/ friends - Edit
Any veg friendly dish can have tofu or veggies added to it as the protein. Great place to go with non vegan friends as anyone can get something they like. The lunch special comes with a choice of an app and a generous serving for a main.

Noodles! - Edit
got the drunken noodles (no egg, made vegan) and they had great flavor! I didn’t get as many noodles as I expected, but that may be because I added extra veggies. The fried rice (no egg, made vegan) was tasty as well! But my favorite has got to be the Thai fries! I love the spices they use and the sweetness from the squash balances out perfectly. So good!

Just ask - Edit
Didn’t really see much on the menu, so I asked the waitress and they said most dishes were made to order, so anything could be made vegan. They made drunken noodles with a vegan sauce and added extra vegetables to it.

So much potential but missed the mark - Edit
I came in because I saw Mi Sen on HappyCow and also saw that they had plenty of options for modifying dishes to be vegan. I got the vegetarian rad na, a tofu/bok choy/noodle dish in a gravy sauce. The gravy was tasteless, I asked for soy sauce and essentially poured it in to make it better. The noodles which were pan fried prior to being added, had black char all over them and gave the dish that horrible burnt taste. I picked out the tofu and bok choy but had to have another meal when I got home.. super disappointed. If you’re on Congress and want a better meal check out Green Elephant or Pom’s Thai Taste.

Cons: Not flavorful whatsoever, Nothing explicitly vegan, Sub par service

Yes, I consider myself a bit of an aficionado when it comes to SE Asian food. Not only do I cook it pretty exclusively but have my favorite four dishes (all different places) in Maine. The Rad Na from Mi Sen is one of the four BEST Asian dishes in Cumberland County, IMO. No - it's not supposed to be full of spice and curry and salty soy sauce. It's a lighter sauce but there is soooooo much in the subtlety of the different flavors. The noodles??? OMG they are home made and have that amazing seasoned wok chewiness to them. Veggies and tofu cooked to perfection. Just my opinion but I think you are wrong here about the Rad Na -- it's probably just not something you are used to.

Not Very Crowded - Edit
Got the crispy fried tofu, Thai fries without mayo and Rad Na. Everyone’s meals were great and the servers were knowledgeable and nice.

yummy noodles :) - Edit
I must admit that it was hard to give Mi Sen a try because it is close to so many of my favorite veg or veg friendly places. But, it is definitely a great option. They specialize in Thai dishes, especially noodle bowls. All the veg options are clearly labeled on the menu, however, some (such as drunken noodles) contain egg. But they are very accommodating about omitting things for veggie folks. Everyone working here is friendly, and the restaurant is open and filled with natural light. I loved my meal; it was very tasty. Also, it was great to see some unusual items like lychee iced tea and taro rolls on the menu.

Satisfying soups - Edit
Mi Sen is ideal for those cold winter days. And here in Maine, there are plenty of them.
Read moreI always go for their soups. You can mix and match noodles, soup bases, and proteins, so there is something for everyone. I especially like their soups with coconut milk (ask for veggie stock), which are aromatic and delicious.
Pros: Hearty soups, Good for winter, Good prices
