Not vegan accommodating

I don’t think this should even be on happy cow. No vegan breakfast options unless you want to pay a lot of money for a toast minus all the fixings.

Only One Vegan Sandwich

Some good salads, but only one vegan sandwich, it's a good sandwich don't get me wrong, but it's pretty disappointing to be stuck choosing between that single option and a salad.

Big, fresh salads

I’ve always loved the huge salads here since my Cal days when it was called Café Intermezzo. Now vegan, I’m glad I can still enjoy Mezzo. I ordered the half salad/half soup combo with herbal vinaigrette dressing on the side, rye bread (the ciabatta is also vegan) and minestrone soup (tomato-based). The half salad is a generous portion, served with a thick, soft slice of rye bread, and the soup is cup size. You can really taste the freshness in the ingredients in both.

Pros: Big salad , Fresh ingredients , Spacious dining areas

Cons: Few vegan menu options

Great patio, reasonable prices

I have loved this place in all its iterations (e.g., Café Intermezzo). Huge salads customized to veg*n diets as well as a couple of sandwich choices (Berkeley Hummus). Nice shared patio with mostly-bar next door. No cash; only cards. Currently closed in coronavirus lockdown.

Pros: Many customizable options. Good people. Low $.

Cons: None for me.
