Decent Thai restaurant

The Mews is a decent little Thai restaurant offering several vegan options. Nice place to eat out. Would definitely recommend to anyone who likes Thai food.

Lots of accidental options that can be veganised.

As there was only one review that was negative, I called beforehand to check there would be options. The guy on the phone was very helpful and assured me that there were lots of vegetarian dishes which could be made vegan. In the restaurant, the waitress wasn’t very familiar with what vegan meant, she did signpost next to the vegetarian section but then gave me a card about coeliac/gluten-free information.

I had tofu with cashew nuts & vegetables in a chilli sauce with coconut rice which was all really tasty. I made sure to ask for it without fish sauce as I’m familiar with Thai cuisine, however, there was no indication of this ingredient/allergen on the menu.

Pros: Lots of vegetable dishes. , Lots of tofu options. , Staff were fairly accommodating of needs.

Cons: Menu doesn’t mention fish sauce as an allergen. , Staff don’t have great knowledge of vegan food. , There was no vegan symbol on the menu.

No Vegan Options

I called and asked if they served vegan options and they said "Yes we have vegetarian options". I then explained that vegans don't eat any animal products including eggs and milk and then she said "Sorry we don't do vegan". Disappointing when it says they do and they haven't a clue what Vegan actually is.
