Amazing ambience and food. But they use eggs as well - Edit
Unlike the popular opinion that vegetarians in Vietnam will have a hard time when it comes to pure vegetarian/vegan food; the country off-lately has developed many vegan/vegetarian eateries across.
Read moreMETTA Vegetarian has been situated in the mid of Ho Chi Minh City and is a very beautiful restaurant. Though they use egg as well in some dishes, make sure you use a translate app to ensure no eggs are used in your order.
We tried this super delicious and healthy Noodle Soup which was filled with veggies and banana flower. Must recommend.

Amazing dinner, but tiny portions of breakfast bowls - Edit
I had dinner and breakfast here. Dinner was fabulous. For breakfast we both had a yoghurt smoothie bowl - and they are so tiny it's a joke, especially for the price.
Read moreSo go here for the salads, the soup served in a coconut, the spring rolls, the incredible yuzu sorbet.... but don't go for with the fruit bowls. See the photos!

Lovely green oasis - Edit
Really lovely fresh food in a tranquil garden style cafe. Menu had lots of options, service was good and the food was good. The vermicelli noodles with spring rolls was delicious.

Too many Mosquitos - Edit
Went there with my friend twice. At the first visit I witnessd a grandpa coming there with a young very muscular guy. And they didn't eat anything. I don't know, I don't want to make any accusation, but to me this seemed as they were collecting protection money.
Read moreAnyway drinking glass was dirty and the bowl they brought with water we asked for was dirty.
At the second visit it was clean. Clean drinking glass. But my friend who wore open shoes got bitten 5 times per foot by mosquitos!!
And the korean noodle soup she ordered, even thou they added some vegetable and tofu, it seemed they made it with instant noodle, because she found those little balls which she usually only finds in instant noodles she bought many times to eat at home, but never found in restaurants... except in this place...
We don't really feel to go there again.
Pros: Vegan Options
Cons: Too many Mosquitos, They use instant noodle to serve

Simple and good - Edit
Have eaten here a few times, the food is fresh and simple and there are a few specialties that my Vietnamese friends ordered that were really great. This was harder for me to find on the menu through the descriptions. Portions are medium and prices are fair. Service was a little slower and relaxed but quiet spot in the centre or busy District 1. A little less options than some cafes and restaurants but pleasant and tasty.
Read morePros: Lots of vegan options, Wholesome ingredients, Lunch specials available
Cons: A little hard to find as in alley

Affordable and delicious - Edit
I have been to this place a lot, mainly because I love their spring rolls and a noodle dish, but the restaurant is so nice decorated and cozy! I will always recommend this place! But be aware, not all of the dishes are vegan!

Questionably vegan - Edit
According to them the egg noodles listed on the menu are vegan and made without egg. However, they gave me a sauce which looked very egg based like mayonnaise. I asked what it was made with on their facebook page, but have not received a response.
Read moreThe food I had was ok. Pretty typical for what you get here in Saigon. Not really noteworthy one way or another.

Tourist friendly, English menu - Edit
I kept trying to order things off the menu and they kept telling me it wasn't available. I ended up with some fried lotus, spring rolls and a salad. It was okay. The iced tea was nice too.
Read moreThough the particular food I ordered wasn't amazing, the restaurant itself was nice, well-decorated and tourist friendly which is why I'm giving it five stars.
