Fancy - Edit
The lentil mushroom shepherds pie is unlike any I’ve had before. The crispy sweet potato curls on top are a nice touch.

Brussel Sprouts + Beer - Edit
I came during their "happy hour", I think it was before 4:00PM so some of the dishes and drinks were discounted. I wanted to try stuff form their main menu and just wait until 4PM but when I took a look at the menu there wasn't much that interested me. There's a quinoa burger but my guess is it's tiny and in order for it to be vegan you have to take cheese and aioli off of it and it costed like $13 or something... So yea I skipped that idea and ended up ordering brussel sprouts and hummus from the appetizer / happy hour menu and they were amazing. Portion of hummus was small but the brussel sprouts portion was humongous and delicious, maybe best brussel sprouts I've ever had. All their items on the menu are labelled VERY well, best I've seen actually. They have V (vegetarian - doesn't contain meat), V+ (can be modified to be vegetarian), VV (vegan - does not contain animal products), VV+ (can be modified to be vegan)
Read moreOverall I'd say this is more of a spot for vegetarians not vegans but could be a good option if you're looking for a nice place to eat or have drinks and an appetizer.

Several delicious vegan options with a great beer selection - Edit
There were several vegan options and the menu was clearly marked with whether it was automatically vegan or if it could be made vegan. I went with the sweet potato quinoa burger and fries and was not disappointed. I had intended to take a picture, but could not stop eating once I took my first bite. The hostess and our waitress were extremely friendly and helpful. They have a great beer tap list as well! I will be returning to try their other vegan options.

Awesome Cauliflower Tacos - Edit
Happy Cow wouldn't let me give a 5 or I would have. Merchants Pub and Plate went above and beyond to create a fantastic vegan entree for us. The buffalo cauliflower taco plate with their mixed vegetable of the day was incredible!! They had delicious cauliflower with a buffalo sauce (not overwhelming), a purple slaw, a pico relish, sliced avocado and they provided a couple vegan dressings too! The chef did a great job as did the ladies taking the order. We cannot wait to go back and sit on the patio as it gets cooler!

Brussel Sprouts - Edit
Merchants definitely has the best brussels sprouts on the planet!! I have tried to find other places that do them as well, but there are none. Be sure to get the ones on the small plate menu that come with cashews and apricots. They are vegan by default and absolutely amazing!
Read moreOverall I would say merchants is better than average, and they are very accommodating to dietary restrictions. They have several vegan options, and so it’s a great place to go if you’re with a mixed group. Wish I could give 3.5 stars, that would be more accurate.
Pros: Very accommodating to diet preferences , Vegan options clearly marked, AMAZING BRUSSELS SPROUTS
Cons: Pricey, Sunday buffet doesn’t have as many options

Great service. good vegan options - Edit
I’ve been here several times. They have good cocktails and a few great vegan options! I love their veggie burger. The first time I went I got the tikka masala and added the veggie patty on top because I couldn’t decide which I wanted

Good food, great beer selection - Edit
Several delicious vegan sides and apps—especially the Brussels sprouts and herbed focaccia. Wish they had more vegan entree and sandwich options. Despite a rotating seasonal menu, the only options for as long as I can remember have been a sweet potato quinoa burger and cauliflower tikka masala, both of which must have dairy-based condiments removed (same is true for most of their vegan-optional items). We go there for beer and apps/sides fairly regularly, but for meals I find it overpriced and not very creative for vegans.

Numerous vegan and gf options - Edit
We were met by an energetic hostess who assured us there were numerous choices on the menu that would meet our requirements. After talking with the waiter, I had the Brussel sprout salad as a starter and the Cauliflower Tikka Masala for a main course. My wife had a selection of sides: HarissaCarrots, Roasted Brussel Sprouts and Apple Sauerkraut.

Excellent food, helpful staff, really clear menu (gluten free, vegan, vegetarian, with additional descriptions if they can optionally be made that way). Ate here for lunch - server was super helpful. Definitely try the Brussels sprouts!

This place is my favorite in Lawrence. Everything on the menu is labeled clearly. There are many vegan options but my favorite is the cauliflower tika misala. I have also tried the sweet potato quinoa burger and liked it.The staff members I’ve had have been knowledgeable and helpful when I’ve had questions.
