Eating vegan around Lake Toya - Edit
It was really delicious! I had the only vegan option on the lunch menu which was a buddha bowle. It was super fresh and refreshing. I also would recommend the fermented fruit soda

Peaceful cafe with good vegan food - Edit
I swear I wrote a review when I tried to add this place to Happy Cow when I was there a couple of weeks ago...but alas. I'll try from memory😄Meguriya is an organic cafe with lots of well-marked vegan options.
Read moreFirst, the farm to plate dish (possibly seasonal) is spectacularly presented (see pics) with tempura onion, rice, colorful dumplings, tofu, and yam. The peking duck was julienned veggies with duck sauce and pancakes. The homemade ginger ale and fruit soda (apple) were refreshing and flavorful.
We also went all out with dessert and tried both muffins along with soy lattes. The mugwort and red bean muffin was unfortunately too dry for my taste, but really like the mugwort taste.
Really friendly staff as well, and the space is lovely.
