Marvelous Mediterranean

There are two dedicated vegan dishes. Both were wonderful. Both entrees were more than we could eat.

Pros: Nice atmosphere, especially dining outside , Friendly servers, Delicious food

Unbelievably good

This was outstanding. Pricing were fantastic. The falafel is unbelievably tasty and light. Frankly, the best I’ve ever had. If I could eat there daily I probably would.

Pros: Several options , Amazing food , Great prices

Cons: they don’t have a restaurant on every corner

Vegan? No Problem.

There are not enough good things to say about Meditrina. The chef and owner, Sarah Geary, will amaze you with her culinary talents. Honestly, the first time I ate here I was blown away. This is the level of culinary prowess I would expect from a restaurant in Chicago or New York City. And here we are, the little town of Valpo, blessed with this wonderful restaurant.

It's no surprise that it's usally very crowded. They added outdoor tables for the summer. With the flowers and railing, it's a great outdoor space.

If you're a vegetarian, the menu here is wide open to you. If you're vegan, the staff and Sarah are very accomodating. The Vegetable Lentil soup (vegan) is a must. The Falafel Deluxe sandwich will keep you coming back. The daily specials usually include some type of pasta dish that, if not already vegan, can easily be made so. Meditrina usually also has a pizza on special. The Mediterranean Pizza is my favorite. It's a pizza with hummus, kalamata olives and I think basal and tomatoes (you have to ask to hold the feta). But if it's not on special you can ask for it and if she's not too busy, Sarah will make it for you!
