Seems to have taken on board previous criticism - Edit
Had a lunch here and it seems the staff have been educated based on previous criticisms. When ordering the vegan Reuben the waitress offered vegan mayo without prompt for the fries on the side. She seemed aware of the reasoning and was very helpful.

Served non-vegan food - and didn't handle it amazingly - Edit
Below is my original 4 star review, which has now been revised to 1 star. Read on to see why.
Read moreMy wife and I both got served non-vegan food, despite mentioning many times (and the whole food order being vegan). Now, I'm pragmatic. This happens, and it sucks - so I judge a business on how they handle that situation and Medicine, you didn't handle it that well.
Mistake 1: you had an opportunity to rectify the situation when part way through bringing the food to our table (2 non vegan croissants were the culprit here and you brought them over separately) my wife made a comment about her excitement at finding vegan croissants. The waiter said absolutely nothing and went on his way to let us consume the food.
Mistake 2: the lady who took our order apologised, several times (which I did appreciate), took the croissants off our bill and gave us for free the correct vegan ones. However she asked an off-hand question about whether it was an allergy or not, to which we said no. She expressed relief because 'thats what matters'. Wrong. My dietary choice is not any less valid than a food allergy and you could have chosen a better way to express the 'ass-covering' relief you felt that neither of us were about to have an allergic reaction to the wrong food we were served and it was 'just a dietary choice'. For the record, consuming a tiny bit of dairy for the first time in years meant both my wife and I experienced fun stomach ache through the morning and mid afternoon. But hey, at least it wasn't an allergy!
Needless to say, we will not be returning.

I’ve long been a Medicine customer at their Birmingham branch so I already knew to expect quality food and it didn’t disappoint. Getting there early for the variety of baked goods makes getting up early worth it. Decent range of vegan options on the menu and a number of cakes/flapjacks/cookies are vegan too. Well worth a trip.
