Nice but small portions - Edit
Lovely dishes (mushrooms on sourdough, sausage bap) although portions a bit small for the price. Happy to pay though as supporting such a good independent venture. Great toy area for young kids, and same building as the library which has more toys!

Good choice - Edit
Went with vege and Omni friends. Lots of space to sit. Easiest to go after 1.30 rush. Nice chickpea dish.

Delicious vegan treats - Edit
Enjoyed the rhubarb and custard blondie. There was also a brownie and a flapjack that looked nice, but I didn’t try them. Pleasant atmosphere and friendly staff.

Shakespeare's Sister - Edit
There are not many vegan friendly places to eat at in Alnwick but this cafe is certainly one to visit with a good selection of vegan options. I ordered the falafel pitta, which was fresh and packed full of flavour and a side of triple cooked chips that were delicious. I also got the only treat they had on offer, which was a superb rhubarb and custard blondie. Staff are also lovely and takeaway is available too.

Simple modern cafe with five vegan mains - Edit
Nice and simple modern smallish café situated in the ground floor of the Alnwick Playhouse building. Both staff were friendly and helpful. A fairly good range of five vegan mains and a good number of vegan sides make this a good choice for a fuss free simple vegan lunch. No booking required. When we went on a Tuesday lunchtime it was fairly quiet. Probably about 10-12 people in the café including us. We tried two of the main course dishes: Veggie (actually vegan) Sausage Sarnies (make sure you ask for the vegan version), and Roasted Beetroot Salad with toasted peanuts. We also had Triple Cooked Chips which were delicious. If you are visiting either the Alnwick Gardens or Alnwick Castle the location of the café (in the Alnwick Playhouse building) is about a minutes walk from the middle (pedestrian only) entrance to the castle grounds between the castle and gardens off Greenwell Road.
