Located in Mitsukoshi Dept Store B2F, between B16 and B18 - Edit
We wanted to have the experience of eating bento on the Shinkansen to Kyoto with the rest of our group, and Masumoto made that possible!
Read moreWe happened to be in Mitsukoshi a few days before our scheduled trip to Kyoto and decided to schedule our order for some vegan bento for that morning. It's not a terribly long walk from Mitsukoshi to Tokyo Station, so we picked up the bento around 10am (when the store opens) and made it to the platform with plenty of time to spare for our 11:30am Shinkansen. Placing the reservation was pretty straightforward, even if you don't speak much/any Japanese.
Most of the reviews say that their bento was plain, but I think it's just the style of traditional Japanese vegan cuisine - I actually thought the bentos we got were pretty flavorful. And it was very colorful!
Be sure to check out the nearby Vegan Marshmalooow for some amazing vegan desserts!
Pros: Vegan Bento Options!
Cons: Not all vegan

Maybe if you really want to try a bento - Edit
It was alright, everything was very soft. Fun to get a bento though.

I also saw an inigiri stand nearby that looked promising.

Bento box - Edit
Some of the flavours are quite unusual but it’s nice to try something a bit different!

Well, it’s a bento and that’s exciting! - Edit
Like regular takeaway bento it’s not what I’d call delicious, just some small very salty things with uninspiring textures, but it was still really cute and exciting to get a bento and I can recommend it for the *experience*.

Delicious and well balanced - Edit
If you have trouble finding it, look at the floor map near the escalator and find either 亀戸 or 升本...that’s how I found it. I got the smallest vegan bento (the なかなか) and it was tasty! Will definitely come back.

Traditional Japanese bento macrobiotic style - Edit
So happy finding this place where just few minutes walk from Kabuki theater. Between the scene, eating bento is really traditional style kabuki watching. Now I can join for them.
Read moreThe bento are beautiful, very sensitive details. So lovely.
You can reserve 2 days in advance. They sell three macrobiotic bento in the morning then two more different one in the afternoon (14:30 -)
