Woefully inadequate labelling and knowledge

I ate here back in February 2024. It was not long after it had opened and I was keen to try some of the options. After my experience I decided against adding it to Happy Cow as I had no confidence in their knowledge of veganism.

Unfortunately the menu labelling is an absolute disaster. Lots of the starters which should be vegan have dairy (7) listed as an allergen. We came to the conclusion that it's because of the mint yoghurt dips most of them are served with. When we ordered we asked about this and specifically stated vegan. The samosas still came out with the yoghurt dip.

I ordered a vegan jackfruit biryani for my main which was promised to have some sauce. When it came out I got a pot of raita. I asked if it was vegan and was told yes. Fortunately I didn't instantly pour it over my dish as the waiter came back and took it away because it wasn't vegan. I didn't get any replacement so I had a dry biryani.

The breads, many of the naans are listed as vegan but they all have allergy listings for eggs (3) and dairy (7). We steered clear of those and went for what looked the safe bets of some parathas that were labelled vegan and had no allergen label red flags.

I did email the restaurant afterwards and they told me that the naans were vegan and that the allergy labelling is an error. I looked at their online menus again recently and found that there have been no updates made to their menu. I sent a follow up email asking them to get this updated and that I can't go to a place that I can't trust with their labelling. It's been a month and this has remained unanswered.

I can't recommend this place or any of the other branches as the labelling is all over the place and I have no faith in their ability to serve an actual vegan dish.
