Tastes Like India!! - Edit
I was so glad to come across Masala Craft on my last trip to White Plains! Incredibly vegan-friendly, all vegan items are clearly marked, and it seems that they have more vegan than non-vegan options! For a true Indian experience (the flavors reminded me of Pune), go for the Chana Saag Thali - both the Chana Saag and the carrot halwa are heavenly. Add in some samosas, garlic naan, and a golden latte, and you’ve got yourself a feast! Also….don’t miss the Medu Vada…..they’re sensational!!

Excellent! - Edit
There are no vegan/vegetarian restaurants in Westchester County. Sonia has created a fantastic eatery! The food is so delicious, fresh - everything is made fresh to order including the chutneys. The spinach was so green that my daughter thought it was "fake" because most spinach in is frozen and not made fresh. The dishes are really delicious and the menu is creative.

If you want authentic delicious Indian vegan and vegetarian food, look no further! My family and I have our new favorite Indian restaurant. In particular, there are vegan dishes and options here found no where else I know of, i.e. amazing mango Lassi and Kulfi! The owner and staff here are beyond nice and attentive. Love this place!

Best Indian Food Ever! - Edit
This is the best Indian food we’ve ever had, and we love Indian food! Plenty of vegan and gluten free options and it’s SO yummy! Cute little place for indoor dining and friendly helpful staff. We’re traveling home to Boston so we got xtra food to go for tomorrow! Wish we lived closer!
Read moreNote: Most dishes seem to be medium spicy, which we love, but ask for mild if you prefer.
Pros: Cute casual place, Fast friendly service, Amazing vegan food!
Cons: None, Definitely none, Too far from Boston LOL.

My #1 date spot - Edit
I love love love this place! The staff is super friendly and willing to make any dish vegan upon request. I've been there four times in the last 8 months and they always remember me and that I'm vegan. Last time I went my date accidentally ordered something vegetarian and the woman pointed out that she remembered I'm vegan, the dish wasn't vegan, and asked if we wanted it made vegan or to pick something else. I only eat in vegetarian restaurants so having such an amazing, accommodating place that doesn't require me to go to NYC is a dream.

Yes, they are vegan friendly! - Edit
Food is delicious and even loved by non-vegans. When ordering specify that you are vegan, but they have changed their menu to more vegan friendly options since 2020 including mango lassi with non-dairy milk and saag subbing the paneer with tofu.

Cons: As of this review cash only—can be a con for some

They advertise as vegan friendly, but do not understand the word vegan - Edit
I ordered Masala Kraft through GrubHub delivery, and I was initially SO happy to find a new place that seemed to actually cater to vegans in S. Westchester.
Read moreCon -- expensive for what you get. Over $30 with tax for some vegetable flat bread, 6 pieces of Pakora and a small order of seasoned french fries... basically three appetizers.
Con -- the clearly labelled vegan Moong Dal Chilla (which I additionally noted in my order notes to make sure it is vegan), came with a 4 oz container of yogurt sauce, which I initially trusted, because they bill themselves as vegan friendly.
Upon calling this morning the restaurant acknowledged it is yogurt sauce, and when admonished for not knowing what vegan means, they thanked me for my input, said they would correct it moving forward -- and offered me NO recompense.
I hate a place which puts itself out as a bastion for vegetarians -- where I should be able to eat the items clearly labeled as vegan -- ends up not actually knowing what it is talking about.
It somehow disappoints me more when people who really should know better just do not!
Pros: Pakora was tasty, although not enough sauce
Cons: yogurt sauce with their supposedly "vegan" dish, price for three appetizers coming to $30

Really Delishhhh! Great Vegan choices - Edit
Loved this place. I ordered the Falafel wrap. It was so delicious. The people were super nice! They even offered to walk my order to the car since it’s meter parking. Really great service. I would recommend this place to my friends. The menu online indicates what’s Vegetarian or Vegan.

Make sure to speak to staff about VEGAN options - Edit
Although the vegan options aren't clearly labeled on the menu, the staff was very helpful to pick out what would be best for me. They understood what vegan was and gave me options. I had the Chana Bhatura. I enjoyed sitting at the window-front counter and people watching while I dined. It was a comfortable dining experience and the staff was friendly.

Not Vegan Friendly - Edit
~Disclosure~ My review is biased because I'm vegan.
Read moreSome dishes do not make it clear that they contain dairy. Some of the staff didn't understand that I wanted dairy free dishes. I took a chance, but I felt sick shortly after leaving, regret going there.
Service was good because they cleaned up promptly, they informed me one of the dishes I ordered had creme and allowed me to change my order.
Not all the staff were aware of which dishes exactly had diary. Not entirely sure if the bread was vegan. I asked them to not make the food so spicy, but it was a raging inferno, which made it unsuitable for my kids.
If I was a vegetarian I'd give this restaurant 4 stars, but I'm vegan and not being able to correctly identify dishes with diary is a big issue.
I spent ~$55 dollars on 3 dishes, 2 sides, and 3 drinks, seemed excessive for this small restaurant.
Pros: Great Vegetarian Options, Cleanliness, Service
Cons: Not Vegan Friendly, Price, Service

My favorite Indian Vegetarian cafe in Westchester - Edit
Masala Kraft is an excellent Indian Vegetarian place - the menu is crisp and yet has an array of excellent Indian varied style of cooking brought together.
Read moreI am a visitor from India, living in White Plains and a vegetarian. Masala kraft has become easily my most frequented place where a single portion of food can be almost right.
The chole-bhature, pav bhaji, dosas and kulcha-palak are well made and maintain very healthy flavors. Their daily deals and Sunday Idli-medhu wadas are delicious.
My favorite drink to go with - is no - not from a bottle, but the 'meru' - a variation of buttermilk.
Could get expensive for large groups - until you go for the deal for the day.
Pros: excellent food, healthy vegetarian cuisine, variety from India
